I just returned to guild wars from when it got released. I Stopped playing it for a bit because of the SAT College Exam. I am now back and i am confused. What has changed in the past two months or so? I see Ascended items what are those?

They have added another tier of gear, above exotics which are only available through a new dungeon.  They have higher stats and have a slot for an infusion which adds resistance and more stats.

I second this !

New map is boring, Ascended gear is absolutely what Anet say they don`t want in their game (gear grind) and then introduced anyway.
New dungeon looks pretty but forces you to play till madness to have any chance of getting new stuff....
Drops are still crap, and given like social welfare to homeless people....
All in all game is turning to take it or leave it MMO that we have on every corner !

And all this coming from true fan.....
on the end it`s best to test it yourself !

Its so bad that it's terribad. That's why people come to this curse site to complain about it so much. It's so bad that instead of just moving on to a less terribad game, they troll here and try to convince everyone who enjoys themselves in the game to think the game is terribad too.

If your answer is that everyone complaining on forums is a troll, i have a question for you !
Why you spend your time on forum if you enjoy game so much, why aren`t you playing and having a blast ?
And next time you try to suggest people to leave game, go first talk with your dad, and tell him that his "my way or the highway" didn`t teach you anything in your life !

Hmm i see i am still enjoying the game. TO me its not about power as much as the gameplay and socializing in the game. Doing PVP and WvW i still find all those aspects fun I think of this game like skyrim but online and different setting.

What annoys me on the forums are people who can only see two extremes, "either love the game unreservedly or GTFO".

People are allowed to critique a game and still enjoy it, and the point of Tyian Assembly is to discuss the game in general, the good and the bad, though I would say some people go about 'discussion' the wrong way.

There are those few who bitch about every thing about the game and just seem to hate the game and have said they're not playing yet still posting here (I consider those very few to be the real trolls).

Then there are those like the ones here who consider any criticism about the game to be some personal slight against them and so they try to drive anyone making complaints to "GTFO". These people are just as extreme and bad as the folks they try to make everyone out to be.

I wish people would get their heads out of their asses and realize that there are shades of grey between and that there are players who actually love the game but just really don't like some aspects of the game (especially when just added to the game).

I feel like the major problem is the combat, the lack of group integrity, the lack of solid roles, and the poorly designed social systems or lackthereof...(Direct trade, Group Finder, Inspect, Duel) The skill system is also very poorly designed and restrictive. The same can also be said about traits. They seem almost like a cop out to adding more skills or tangibly deeper combat mechanics through skill usage.

There are threads for just about every single feature in the game- threads discussing the state of the game, threads where people discuss things that they do or do not like, threads discussing problem within the game, and the list goes on. Rather than starting another thread and fragmenting discussion, please do a little searching on your own. If you have a more specific question, check out the Q&A section of the forums.
