I'm currently using EVGA Precision X monitoring tool to display GPU usage and temperature on the top left corner of the screen when playing GW2. Will this get me banned? As far as I know, I don't think this application directly injects any codes into the GW2's application.

Well first thing to note is , if they cant track , they cant ban. This is a very important note.

Your VGA monitoring software does not interact with GW in any way so you are safe.

Software that actually interacts with the GW software, anything that alters files or pings the server is in question and you should ask ANET directly before installing.

well, have been using it for like a few days. i have been having some driver problems with my ATI HD 4870x2 (picked it up for $60 so why not?)..... ATi drivers are just godly aweful. Back to Nvidia soon. anyways, I was experimenting with different drivers/tweaks and cooling stuff..

If this gets me perma banned then I guess it's time to quit.

There is zero reason you'd get banned for this.

Its not going to cause you to get banned, its no different then say Vent / mumble / TS running or any other countless programs running in the background as you play.

ATi drivers aren't godly awful, 10 year old bandwagon is old.

I have a Logitech G510 keyboard which Anet designed support for. The lcd display shows my character stats, wvw score and also map completion etc.   The G510 also includes a default cpu and ram moniter so the question is silly. Besides anyone with multiple moniters can have stuff desplayed like fraps, afterburner etc. Thats like asking if you will get a speeding ticket because your car has a rpm gauge

I use afterburner to look at my fps/temp etc in the top right corner of all games.
Been fine so far.

Do you know if they offer suppose for the G19? I wouldn't mind having the mini map displayed there.

Also do you guys think I will get in trouble for using a macro?
For skill 1 I have a macro setup to press 1 every 0.15 seconds while I hold it down, i use this for my engineer and the grenade kits. if I just press it down and not hold it, it presses 1 Once, If I hold it, it spams it.

As a general rule if you have to ask you probably shouldn't be using it, but this seems to be the exception.

If it doesn't have anything to do the GW2, it's probably safe.

That sounds a bit suspect to me.

Why not just have it on auto-cast?

Grenades is a utility skill not a weapon skill. No auto cast as far as I know.

using a macro will probably get you banned for sure. read it a long time ago about a WOW player who got banned for using a macro and he was crying about it on the internet..

I've been using SweetFX for weeks now, which actually alters in-game graphics by providing antialiasing and image sharpening. It changes absolutely nothing about game mechanics or economics, and it seems to pass all of the important points on the link given above. Plus, I know a lot of forum members are using it, and if they were getting banned we'd certainly be hearing about it.

My point is, if SweetFX is tolerated, we can reasonably expect EVGA Precision X is as well. FRAPS does some of the same things, and obviously that's allowed.

I thought anet said they were only interested in stopping software and hardware that gave a player advantages over others.

So if it lets you auto dodge or maybe speeds up targeting and skill use they could ban you.

Their general policy is if it provides your gameplay with advantage over other player's utilizing 3rd party software they can ban you for it. What your describing doesn't do that. Using 3rd party programs to multibox multiple game clients on the same computer or botting/hacking does apply to this.
