Legendaries are meant to be the end of the line and still are. Now the funny thing is I bet 95% of you wasn't even going to try for them. Why do you even care they introduced something under that way easier to get? It's like i said people aren't reading and being drama queens over misinformation. You just proved my point you didn't read but please continue.
Ill add you can't even buy legendary gear outright. Because 40% of it is merit so what would you be buying pay2win exotics? Because you can't buy ascended gear either with gems. So how someone even thinks this game is anywhere close to p2w is beyond me.

It is not free if you have to spend time farming for it. Time is money. If you earn $20/hr that is equivalent to farming about 21g14s24c/hr. It makes sense to use the most productive form of farming. You can farm for gold in the game or you can farm for gold in real life.

No one has ever denied that the patch notes say Ascended gear is stronger than exotics. Arena Net have however on multiple occasions stated that they do not plan to have a gear grind in GW2, which they now have gone back on. This upsets a large portion of the players.
No one is complaining about Legendaries being P2W either (yet). They will only be stronger than exotics when they introduce Ascended weapons.
And to be fair I don't think anyone in this thread can comprehend your posts due to how poorly written they are.

Last I checked, games were meant to take up down time. This is what I do when I get back from work. I can't live off it unless I'm a gold seller and even then I've hardly seen them/bots since Halloween.
Honestly, I have full rare gear. I get the job done, that little gap between rare and exotic isn't worth my effort until I accumulate it over time through standard play. Ascended? Never seen it, oh that expensive crap on the tp that makes my measly stats just that much better? As if I've noticed a major difference in the game from that 2% crit. Frankly I still need (I'll use that loosely) to complete the dungeons in story mode. Too busy not staring at a spreadsheet to worry about details that don't noticeably affect me.

You mean how they tried to appease hardcore players again and realized that it doesn't go over well with people who didn't like WoW and co.? I don't see how that small gap in stats kills pve anyways. I await the long and detailed response that I'll gloss over and smh.

Actually games were meant for you to have fun, we paid good money for them afterall. If repeatedly farming for gold is fun for anyone of you, then great. Otherwise, why would you farm for gold in a game if not for the reward, which you can pay to have it without grinding for it. So with enough money, you can just perform the activities that you like in the game without wasting your time on activities that you dislike.

Resurrection Orbs.
If your entire team dies there isn't much point in rez orbs is there? IIRC jade maw doesn't reset phases so he is completely zergable.
BTW the some of the more OP PvE items aren't in cash shop. Its in Charr newb area. For a whopping 28 Karma

You are correct in that he doesn't reset. However the Agony is reapplied every time you jump across the jade platforms to the area where the Jade Maw is.

I've been reading through your posts, you talk about the efficient way of farming gold and how it would be easier to convert irl money to in-game gold. But I've failed to understand one thing, why are you (or others, as matter of fact) in such a rush to get new stuff as soon as it comes out? Why not just play the game for fun as it was meant to be? You don't HAVE to grind gold, you can accumulate it overtime doing things you like.
Honestly, I've finished all the dungeons in explorable mode, and I still do them for fun with my friends even though I have the skins I want. And now, if I'm not in WvW I'm doing FoTM not due to the grind to get Ascended, but just for fun with rewards as a side bonus. Even though FoTM is a gated content, I like the idea of scaling difficult, I want to see how far I can go.
Also recall that GW2 has no sub fee, you don't have to spend hours grinding, you can do it slowly. You (not directed at you, but the general public who fit the "gimme it right now" description) just want everything NOW, that's the problem. I know unlike some people I'm not going to get my legendary sometime soon, but I'm slowly working towards it, the journey that takes me there, i.e. dungeon runs, WvW, dragon kills, etc, is what makes it fun.

Fun is a very subjective term. To some people, farming gold by mindlessly grinding through repeated content is fun. As much as I don't understand why, I accepted it with the understanding that what is fun for some may not be fun for others. Having said that, I have tried FOTM with my wife and we didn't enjoy it. We didn't enjoy the difficulty in finding a team because people were all in different levels. We don't enjoy jumping puzzles and we don't like 1-hit kills.
For the activities that I do enjoy doing, they are not very rewarding so they don't earn nearly as much gold for me as someone who grinds FOTM. The fact that I have not been going back to FOTM already showed that I am not in a hurry to earn as much gold or get the latest uber Ascended gear as most people, in FOTM, are.
I am slowly doing what I enjoy even though I still detest ArenaNet's new design philosophy and over-emphasis on FOTM. Without grinding their favorite dungeon, the gear on my toons would gradually be sub-par compared to the average player in the game. So I would probably be more and more reclusive and avoid pugs that would ask me to link my gear before attempting harder content with me. As time goes on, I will lose interest in playing my toons and quit altogether. That is my plan and the consequences of not playing the way that ArenaNet wanted me to play. My plan is working as I am already starting to lose interest in this game.

Don't do Fractals as I keep getting disconnected every 10 to 20 minutes and you need a party for that (too impatient to wait for hours to get a party going so I'm dependant on friends who I can't play with as ANet doesn't allow it).

Even though I hate the gear tier (I still don't see any need for better stats) I'll definitely do those dungeons for the new content and challenge.
There's a few that are kind of fun, too bad that it's still a lot of (too much) red circle dodging.

Do i want to use this ring? No i don't...
As a perfectionist it's really frustrating to have to wait for a lucky roll on a slightly better item.
Besides, the fractals are getting boring (they are great fun and well designed, don't get me wrong). I expected my rings to drop a lot faster. Keep the infused rings etc. as they are because hardcore PvE players like to grind to the highest fractal possible anyways.. But please.. let the other rings drop more often or something..

I apologize, I misread your comment.
The point I was trying to make was that the micro-transaction offered could be cosmetic or boosts, without introducing unpopular mechanics. I would agree that micro-transactions are needed in a game that doesn't have subscriptions.

Now if you want to leave the game like a drama queen jealous/pissed/misinformed go ahead people will replace you. Or if you rather act like a adult and enjoy all parts of the game and let others enjoy that be better. The selfishness needs to stop it's what led WoW into the gutter.
