Hey all,

Fairly new to GW2 and I wanted to know which class would be the best to pair with a warrior? Typically I play healer/ranged support so I was looking at Guardian, Ele, or Engi. However I've seen that there are a fair amount of Guardians and Eles in the game already.

Are guardians and elementalists really that much better than Engi? Or would maybe a class like the necro or mesmer be better for a support role?

Hey man i'm going to say that engineer is the best support class from what i've gathered reading on the forums. Guardian is more of a Tank/Support
Ele is DPS/Support
Engineer is support/support

When i role any proff i tend to look for Guardian players my level to play with.....they have earlier access to healing others. But Gw2 is not just about healing....boons...condition removal and control.....i'd still say guardian is an awesome support.

Ranged support, then Ele or Engi i would say, Necro works but mostly at later levels.

Staff ele has heals in water "stance" and engi has their awesome Heal turret and medkit, elixirs and elixir gun.

There isn't a single correct answer for this. However my first toon was a necro which ran alongside my brother's warrior. They make a great team. The warrior has the ability to sustain an extended amount of abuse and dish it out in return. The necro debuffs and weakens mobs, controls conditions, and steps in from time to time to take some heat off the warrior as necessary. The warrior can also throw down banners for both to use (would work with any other class). We were getting 4 minutes of swiftness at some points which is good for just getting around.

Based on your preferences I would go Elementalist.  It's a squishy profession but complements the Warrior very well with ranged support and some healing, as well as the option for great AoE damage.  Don't turn down a profession because you think it is too popular - there is a good player balance right now will all the professions.

I run a Mesmer along side my girlfriends warrior and works out really well
