I know server names are based from actual places ingame, most server names can be spotted easily on the map, but im having a hard time finding this place. Blackgate and blacktide(cant find it either) must be real close, any info?

There are some server names that aren't from locations that we know of - for instance, Sanctum of Rall is a homage to a fan that died before GW2 was released (it may become a location, but if it does, we haven't seen it yet).

Blacktide would be Blacktide Den, which is the outpost from which the third mission in Nightfall starts. Blackgate I don't know - the most logical might be one of the gates to the Black Citadel, but as far as I know it's not used in either game.

Awww... No info about blackgate on wiki either. I'll check the one from black citidel. Nice to know the part about sanctum of rall.

Both of the gates at the Black Citadel are named for the zones they go into - that may be player convenience, though, and "black gate" may be a nickname.

I initially thought Orr, but I think all the gates there have their own names as well (but, again, nickname is a possibility). If I really had to guess, though, I'd suspect it might have to do with Joko's empire.

Possible, but they still had to give us an ingame location tied to it. Otherwise they might as well name one of the servers the Shire, Rivendell or even Endor. They can't just take names from other's peoples work.

My guess is that it's another name for the Onyx Gate, which is the Mursaat's main fortress that guards the Door of Komalie. Pretty impressive piece of architecture on the Ring of Fire islands.

(Biased because, y'know, Mursaat fangirl.)
