Just curious to know based off of how many players you have seen with a legendary and your progression with your own legendary. What percentage of the player base will have a legendary by the end of the year? So far I have seen about ~8 players with them most of those were in WvW. So I guess maybe 1% of players have them now.

There's a fair few players rocking with their legendary weapons in LA nowadays although I haven't kept a count on how many unique toons are using these weapons.

Personal progression towards a legendary is nil. I don't forsee ever having a legendary weapon.

Since I don't care about ascended, why would I care about legendary?

Not me.

Far too costly in terms of money and time.

Time better spent levelling and gearing alts.

I've just begun saving stuff on the side for my own. It's not much, I mean I'm not working to get it NOW NOW NOW. But I do plan on getting one, gotta crawl before you walk ;) So chalk that up as another possible Legendary on Ehmry Bay :D I might just be the first in my guild to get one too :D

The investment it'll take for me is too much, so I won't be getting one for some time. Doesn't help that none of them appeal to me as much as my first set of FoW from Gw1...

I've only seen two people with twilight. What was strange, though, is when I ran into the second person wearing it and he asked me what armor set I was wearing. It was Draconic :\ Just struck me as odd that someone who put in all that effort for a Legendary wasn't aware of the draconic set.

Not that I have the means at the moment but it would have been one of my goals in the long run, like FoW armour.
But I'm definitely not going to spend so much time & effort on something - just to transmute it back to a nicer skin.

This... if i keep playing long enough i probably get one (or more), but atm i have other priorities.

Before the end of the year? Probably, just not in 2012 :P

I've already seen tons of twilight and sunrise legendarys. They are probably the most common. I'm sitting here with bifrost and just have seen it once from someone else.

not me, too many things needed for a single weapon

besides, the concept of the legendary weapon is against the philosophy of why I bought the game in the first place, if the game is interesting enough that it keeps me logging on through content, then I won't have time to get a legendary weapon, if the only reason I log on daily becomes a legendary weapon, then the game just becomes a grind and I might as well quit at that point

I'll probably gradually get one, will probably take me about a year once I decide on which class I like and what weapon I want to make.

But yeah I'd say about 1-2% of players will have one by the end of the year.

I'll get one eventually. I was going to get Twilight and The Flameseeker Prophecies for my guardian, but I think I'm gonna wait until I see what new ones Anet puts out. I'd rather not spend a bunch of gold on legendaries now and then have Anet release better ones and not have enough then. A couple of the mystic forge exotics have caught my eye though like Foefire's Essence so we'll see what happens.

I wanted to go for Twilight on my Guardian, but after seeing Volcanus, I thought that it looks ten million times better than Twilight. So that's what I'm after atm, but it will still take a lot of time to get one. Eventually, I will go for one legendary, but it's too expensive for a casual player to try and get it too soon. Even other exotic skins (like Volcanus or Foefire's Essence etc) are too expensive for a casual player, but that's a different story.

Man, I can't even get the best inventory bags... Legendary? Maybe in 2 years. If I still play

Not planning on getting any of them right now.   I already get bored with thinking about the grind for them...  If I would ever get a precursor, I'd probably just sell it on the TP for the highest bidder...

Don't even bother, 15 slot bags are more then enough. Besides it's cheaper to unlock a new bag slot then getting the 20 slot bags, it's just a waste of money.

Twilight, if I'd bother after I've done everything else. I'm not really into the form of it, but the animation of the blade is gorgeous.

Yeah that'a a clever approach to it. What does 15-slot bags cost? I know the 20-slot ones are 2 gold, which makes 22-slot ones 10 gold being an insanely huge differerence. 8 gold more for 2 more slots? please. lol

I need 58 charged lodestones, about 150 each of the T6 mats, and Balthazar to be capped when I am on. If I get aggressive I will have it by January. I would say that maybe 1-2% of players may have it by then. I have seen only 3 players on my server with legendary items. I see the same three every time.

I see a legendary almost every day on IoJ, although some are obviously the same people, but i have seen a wide variety. A number of greatswords, but also the shortbow, dagger, quip, and i'm sure some others i'm forgetting.

At best i will have my first dagger by the end of the year, at worst the end of january, then will begin grinding for either another dagger or the short bow for sometime in summer of 2013.

I would need to have leveled all 8 professions and done a ton of other stuff before I worried about it.

I've been in a FoTM group with 3 Twilights before. Not 3 legendaries, but 3 Twilights : |

For my part I go for the armour and weapons I like the look of, blue green yellow exotic who cares.
Its what they do and what they look like.

Besides if your into weapon swapping one legendary isn't enough, for instance do you get a pair of daggers or pistols with legendary.
If not the effect will be somewhat spoiled.

Same with any paired weapons axes sword shield etc.
Sure 2h weapons are fine

Ask me again this time next year.

Legendaries may be necessary if the power creep continues. They are the only guaranteed to always be top tier.

Of course that may be a statement soon to be broken too.

I'm not going for one because to me it's just a hell grind (or something to sink gold/cash) into and has nothing to do with skill or ability.

I'd rather see skill based games give rewards based on skill instead of how much you're willing to tolerate grind or how willing you are to dump cash into your gear.

This game has a problem with gear in general.  You don't get cool gear for beating bosses, like in instances.  You really only get it thru luck (forge or drops) or thru miserable grind.  Or crafting, and it's silly that crafting is the easy way to get gear (works for me since I'm into craftring but it's just a dumb way for it to work objectively).

that's exactly what it is...plus it takes way too much probability/chance thing to get the ingredients. I HATE that... if i put in the time, i want to get it. I don't want some computer generator telling me if i deserve it.

Keep in mind only the clovers require this and when you don't get them, you do get something else you do need (T6 mats). I know some people still don't like it but its not as bad as people make it out to be. My biggest gripe is the lodestones, or even the funny part where some legendary items don't need lodestones at all and some need 200g+ in lodestones. Equal parts on the no lode items are substituted for 3s ea. orbs that make big price gaps between legendary items. If I went for Bifrost for example I would be done aside from clovers and obsidian shards.
