Happening a few times to me, on character swaps. I think it is a login server issue not an item flagging issue. However I did use a make over earlier...
I haven't even logged in to get a kit yet because I keep getting error 42. So its a server issue.

1. Have a sale to entice shoppers to buy. (Black Friday)
2. Gems have been reduced by buyers.
3. Put out new sale items.
4. Some shoppers will need to buy gems as they spent a good portion of their stockpile.
5. Put out new sale items.
and so on. It's meant to drain off and create a reason to buy more gems. This isn't a conspiracy, it's just sound marketing in this type of F2P shop market.
Name Change, Bank Anywhere, etc., will probably come out very soon. On the flipside there could be technical issues with name changes and character data storage, but I doubt that is the case since they already can enforce name changes for improper names.

That items will leave the Gem Store soon ? I'm thinking in buy some of this, but the Gem is costing so much gold lately..
I believe only special holiday items will not always be permanent on the store. Such as Halloween costumes. The makeover kits and hair kits should remain.

Ah got you. Trying out professions can be done in some level in spvp
sPvP isn't PvE... What would it aid me to try out a profession in sPvP when it plays rather differently in PvE anyways.

Get the wave of " I meant to do this" with the existing options now, and then the " ooh I totally would have chosen that" wave down the road.
I suppose that makes sense. If that's the case I'll wait until they offer the new options.

They should prepare for all the cash they will be getting. Even more! Community + customer satisfaction. Its an actually savvy move that has no huge drawbacks.
Take my money, Anet!
Edit: I just noticed it has no name change.. I am fine with my name and gender but that is a bit strange. I don't blame them at all though, I am sure they will add a separate item that changes names. That is how it usually is in most mmo.. so don't worry!

It allowed you to choose from any haircut of any campaigns.
GW 2's version; for around $4.35 for one character which is $1.85 more or 3.50 per character if you bought the 5 pack. you get the same boring haircut choices from the character's creation. In my case I was lucky there was one haircut I liked more. They could have at least included all the haircuts from the Norn and Asura, for Sylvari added more choices and Charr well more whatever.
So for me it was a big let down I'll not buy more until some additions are made. Fortunately I was wise enough to buy only one, I had a feeling they would pull a carrot on this one and the did.
As for the self style hair kit, well if they didn't add haircuts here as well. How is this supposed to be better? If you chose the best haircut the first time then don't bother with this roller coaster.
On these 2 items I give Anet a 5 out of 10.
Because of low choices I won't be able to change my Norn haircut.
