Anybody know how this would affect name reservation?  For instance, I want to move my Elementalist's name to my Guardian.  If I makeover my Ele, can I then take its name on my Guardian?  And if so, does it do the normal 24 hour name reservation as if I had Deleted my Ele?

I love this contraption. :) I would be super-pleased if there was another way to earn them though. Well, Anet needs money...

Makeover kits do not allow you to change anything other than your appreance, it only gives you access to that one page in the character creation process. You cannot change your name, race, profession or background choices.

Did anyone test a total make-over kit yet? I mean, if GENDER change would be part of it - wouldn't that also mean that it's essentially a NAME change too?

EDIT: Oh just read above - well weird that it comes with a gender change, but not a name change - say hello to the delicate female going by "HE-MAN HULKSMASH" xD

Name changes are handled by Contracts which are sold separately.. not sure why those didn't get turned on at the same time

Dunno if it was answered here or somewhere but did they add new hairstyle/color/faces to this kit or the options are the same of the character creation?

no changes have been made to the options themselves.

I would like to see other professions' and backgrounds' stories, but I can't be bothered with all the skill unlock and leveling crap. If I could just do the personal storyline missions without having to bother about anything else, I'd do that.

Also I'd like to try out some other professions, but only if I could jump straight to 80.

Ah got you. Trying out professions can be done in some level in spvp

I'm amazed it took them as long as it did to include this.  More and more suggestions for this was popping up on the official forums.

And there was much rejoicing.  Been wanting this for a while now to correct some design flaws in a few of my characters.

I've come to terms with the choice I made for a Sylvari female thief. Prior to getting my Tier 3 cultural I was very disappointed in the race. Now I couldn't be happier. That needs to be done now is to choose a better body type, face, and hair color/style and then I'll be happy with my Sylvari Thief.

Race change could also work if it only worked with characters that have finnished their personal story and thus have no more use for it.
Only problem woud be cultural armors which could be solved by auto converting them to apropiate cultural armor or just warning you wouldn't be able to use it anymore.

Anyone else think the hair make over is a bit steep?  I mean if the direction they took was that peeps wouldn't make changes often I could see the total make over being pricier.  For instance I could see hair make over being 125gems and total being 450 or even 500 gems.  Peeps would want to change hair more often, but doubtedly complete revamp including gender.

They missed out on a prime opportunity. What they should of done was introduce new faces and hairstyles, even scars which can be selected as a new character, however your existing character can get a new makeover with one of these kits. I have no need for them as since after I reserved my name and deleted my character I had 24 hours to comb through every single featureand make my characters perfect. Still cool none the less.

does the hair kit just let you edit the hair or can you edit the entire face?

edit: nevermind, wiki wasn't loading for me, found out (answer is no).

I love this, I can finally update the look of my Sylvari Ranger, btw anyone know the extact color skin Cathie has, I find it werid we can create  near copies of Destiny Edge expect for her (besides her hair), and I can also downsize my Huge Norn Guardain, I thought it would be cool be a huge max-size Norn, I was in fact, sadly mistake in this.

So, I used 2 hair kits and 2 makeover kits... After I used my last makeover kit I got kicked out of the game with error 42 and now I can't play on any of my characters because of that error (even though it lets me get to character select screen). Never happened to me before and nothing on my side has changed... Has anyone else gotten this?

Hey Valk I wouldn't worry about that too much atm, it looks like the login servers are down and a ton of people are being given some strange errors right now.

Also yea, I wish they had introduced a name change service with this, it seems like a given since a gender change goes hand in hand with a name change but... common sense has never really been ArenaNets thing.

Oh, okay thanks xD None of my friends seem to have gotten dced so I was a bit worried.

As for name changes and new hair styles and tattoos and the like, I think there's a pretty high chance that it'll come later. This is something that many people expected on release but it did take awhile to get it in, more stuff will probably be incoming =]

Happening a few times to me, on character swaps.  I think it is a login server issue not an item flagging issue.  However I did use a make over earlier...

Well, I guess using unisex name for my character was a good idea. :D

Anyway, I think there was a name-changing item already in game files. We can only speculate on why it hasn't been added in gem store yet.
