Don't use the TP until fix

Just wanted to make a public service announcement that the TP is currently broken and that trying to retrieve retracted buy orders will result in a complete loss of your money. Furthermore, items sold in the last 12 hours (based on my experience; could be even further back then that) did not actually provide any money.

Just lost ~5 gold today so wanted others to not make the same mistake with the TP until ANet fixes it or issues a statement.

It's okay to enjoy crap if you're willing to admit it's crap.
Every patch is like ArenaNet walking out onto the stage of the International Don't Kitten Up Championship, and then proceeding to shiv itself in the stomach 30 times while screaming "IT'S FOR YOUR OWN GOOD! IT'S FOR YOUR OWN GOOD!"

I just played all morning and all  of a sudden getting error 42 when trying to play. I wonder if it's related to whatever they are trying to do.

On a related note, I'm pissed. 2 weeks in a row that I get error 42s making me unable to play during my free time.

error 42ing as well, can't even get past char selection screen.

Buying/selling on TP, using Gems on BLTC, etc., all broken.  Avoid til they post it is fixed.

I was just about to sell some exotic in the TP then I hit the "can't access game server" error message.  I probably also lost gold in last night's sales.

I also lost money on the trading post. Bought pile of shimmering dust but did not get the items. When I logged out  and back in I got the error 42. Oddly enough I could log in with all my other toons but my warrior which was using the TP is the only one to receive error 42.  I put in a support ticket then found this thread.

It's like release day again, can't even use waypoints without error 42. What the hell did they do?

Do you?  Taking Gems and not getting product is outright theft.  I would like to see them try to say they can't compensate, but from past issues like this I am fairly sure the data isn't lost, only the transaction being held up.

now I'm completely locked out of the log in server, can't even get to char select.

I just bought a Total Makeover Kit and I got it without problems.

What about Buy orders and stuff? Are they effected too? Should we cancel our Buy Orders?

No.  Given previous comments from devs, transactions are queued up and processed in order.  If they are not being processed, they are not lost.  Rather, they will be processed and the items will be distributed when the system is fixed.

I got my gem purchased item now, about 30 mins after I bought, so my personal concern is alleviated.

this was an issue on the 3rd of september as well.  the error 42 anyway.  "RB2" put out a message on facebook informing us that error 42's were happening.

so is the error 42 issue a launch issue unresolved?

I've sold stuff worth around 1,5g on the TP but never received the money... It says they where sold 2 Days ago. I didn't pick anything up yet...

I can only speak for myself, but I bought and sold around 50 items yesterday and picked up 7 gold. Every sale/purchase went through successfully for me, without delay.
