Wintersday is coming...

It's that time of year again... children receiving gifts, the religious among us celebrating the respective feasts, family time, and the Guild Wars Wintersday.  A common Christmas tradition with Arenanet, Wintersday is the neutral feast of the winter and the fights of the gods.  Check out the event page for more information!

The nights may be long and dark, but Tyrians of all races keep joy alive during the ancient holiday of Wintersday. While each race celebrates Wintersday in their own unique way, children all over Tyria share a common love of one thing: toys.

This year the city of Lion’s Arch will host the asuran Toymaker Tixx as their special Wintersday guest of honor. Before Tixx arrives in Lion’s Arch in his massive airship toy workshop, he’ll visit every major city in Tyria to deliver Wintersday toys and holiday cheer.

It can, but I assume it will come paired with a giant amount of lag and crashes.  I mean, the MKT cutscene was awesome... if they can do something like that without the James bond 007 error that occurred after the cutscene, they may have something awesome on their hands.

WHY does every events major NPC have to be an Asura?

EDIT: Better yet, why is the toy maker not some old jolly norn? That much better fits the 'santa' theme then a tiny alien looking creature.

Halloween, we helped that asura member of the priory. FotM is based on an Asura's work in the mists, The first NPC to warn us about the Karka was another Asura. The only difference this time is, atleast this one is a male.

Make it a charr, name him santa paws, and dress him up in a santa costume.

I hope snowball fights make a return. That for me was the most enjoyable part of GW1.

I wonder if they are going to decorate all the major cities, going by that article. If I had to make the decision, I would have each holiday take place in a different capitol city, spreading the population over the year, but o well...

I dont care what it is just not asura. Im tired of an NPC that is so tiny he becomes invisible because every player surrounds him and since he only knee high he disappears. That and they are annoying.

They could just have it off in the air in the distance like the Wizard's Tower in Kessex.  It can be relatively lower detail for that.

Let the overhyping and rampant speculation begin! OMG GUYS MAYBE QUAGGAN WILL BE PLAYABLE IN THIS UPDATE AND MAYBE THERE WILL BE NEW PROFFESSIONS AND 5 NEW DUNGEONS AND jwsfiiawjgfejwgjeg.

In all seriousness though, I'm very excited! While gw2 halloween didnt quite live up to Gw1 halloween imo, i stilll really enjoyed it and am expecting to love this as well!

They should have the Lion in LA re-built, just in time for the airship to land and squash it. Thus starting a new tradition of destroying the statue in a new way for every major event...

You don't seem to understand the function of conceptul art. Let me give you a little insight, It's an idea, not schematics. This piece of art isn't suppose to be exact in terms of perspective and measurements. It's merely conveying a perspective, but inspiring other perspectives to an idea. In this case a floating burly figurine-vehicle in a very steampunk style.

UH-MAY-ZINGGGG! My favourite part of GW1 was all these events. I absolutely love all the little stuff they add in the game and all the decorations and consumables. Besides...who doesn't like Christmas time. I'm not even a Christmas celebrator but I love the good ol jolly time... Can't wait!!! Woo' P.s. that floating thing is creepy looking

Having a one-time event every time with a cutscene with always new ways of smashing the lion!
