I think it's rather obvious that some legendaries have more effects that others (GS's, bifrost, juggernaut, incinerator) as opposed to some that have minimal effects (dreamer, quip, moot, and more). Do you think that they will revamp the ones that lack the footprints, glows/particle effects and whatnot to be on par with the ones that have everything?

I think they will, just that we don't know when they will do it.

Probably you can try in the official forum to get an official response?

That could aslo just be updating them to Ascended stats. Not visual update.

Im a thief and sadly I think the incinerator looks like crap.. Well not crap but not too awesome for a legendary.. Actually if u see someone with one from a distance its way too similar to that fiery sword people got from playing gw1, When I start grinding for one it would probably be the sword.

I understand that they said they'll have new legendaries, but I already have a legendary, and don't feel like putting all that into another weapon. I just think that they can up some of the legendaries looks, to be on par with the ones that are truely legendary, ones that are obviously noticeable.

In my opinion, all of them should atleast have some kind of footprint effects.

Also, introducing new legendaries this early, by early, I mean less than a year in, is pretty silly.

Feel bad for those that got their legendaries aleady, seems alittle too soon for new ones though.

I mean, people didn't have to get legendaries. The reason why I haven't started towards a legendary is because I mainly play my ele and bifrost/meteorologica/the incinerator/the lyre thing are either not to my taste or not fitting with the theme of my ele.

Adding new legendary skins is a good move for the people who don't find any of the current legendaries to their taste and/or not worth the time to get those legendaries on an alt that you don't use much (if you like ones that are of a dif weapon type than your main can use).

I'm hoping they update the visuals of some of the legendaries but they're already way unique, even just by models so who knows.

I would think the new ones that come out would blow the current ones away, in terms of visual appearance, with effects and all, leaving no one wanting the older ones anymore, so I would hope they'd do something to the ones that really need them.

The thing that gets me about legendaries is that they are not actual existing legendary swords as we would know them.
They are legendary recipes that create a superior weapon, at least that's how I choose to view them as I hate the idea of there being hundreds of identical copies.

Therefore I feel that the best thing they could do would be to eventually allow players to customise the final finish.
Maybe at some point players will be able to create a precurser weapon to their own design and then turn that into a legendary.

Whatever they do they need to understand that not all players like their version as to what the final weapon looks like.
I have seen some appalling two handed swords.

I think all legendaries need to have the same elements. footprints and some kind of attack animation visual.

the legendaries need an overhaul before I will even think about changing my mind to making one.  right now all the skins suck (my opinion), the cost is ridiculous, there is way too much gambling in the genie's toilet involved, and there is no benefit statistically to getting one.

If they release new ones that don't have absolutely retarded skins (quip, dreamer...ugh) or make a way to get them that doesn't require crying into the genie's toilet for weeks praying for a precursor and clovers, then I might think about it.  but without an entire overhaul of the system, I'll just keep playing with my better looking gear that works just as good.

Honestly, except some particular bugs or stupid things ( for example, the 1h sword noise fixed) i truly doubt anything will be improved SO MUCH to worth the hassle.
Means designer is a fail employee, forget it ^_^
I saw yesterday a guy with Meteorlogicus. I felt so sorry for him, i had to zoom my camera to see was the legendary, and just because one in our party asked him what was that scepter :P

Legendaries should require skill time money resources and luck.
But the luck element should be the least part.
As I see it the player takes their character on a quest for a legendary weapon, a specific legendary, so you shoul'd be able to focus on what your looking for.

Since they require a precurser that is the part that needs changing, to much of a random element there.
I have a ranger as main so would be looking not just for a weapon I can use but one I use often in my build.
If they can do that then many more players might actually go for a legendary.

Legendaries are not Legendary. They are currently exotic weapons with unique skins. Of coarse they will get an update

So what. Soon they will be top end weapons while 99% are still struggling to craft one. Don't feel bad if someone kicked you from a party whispering "Sorry bro, i have a buddy with twilight and one with Bifrost, aggressive fullascended, i had to kick someone" ;) pssss , both are exploited/cheated, but meh, noone got banned for it ;)

Level 40 fractal elitism OP.

The only place this would happen is in fractals as you only need infusions/ascended gear in fractals. "But ascended gear has better stats than exotics!!" Look at group formation today for non-fractal dungeons. Do you see people constantly advertising "LFG X __ Path 1,2,3! Must have full exotics!"? No. Do you occasionally see people advertising which profession they would prefer for certain paths? Yeah, but it's not a majority. Even after ascended weapons come out (which will be awhile) legendaries will still be the same (That's another thing, legendaries will only be ascended quality after other ascended weapons come out). A cosmetic item.

I might even transmute my [future] legendary down to exotic if, when upgrading it to ascended stats, they remove the sigil in place of an infusion slot.

But I digress, there are a few legendaries that interest me (Kudzu, Twilight, Sunrise, Bifrost, Juggernaut, Flameseeker Prophecies) but none of them would work well on my main so at this point in time I don't want to work towards them. I think those are ones with high quality effects (unsure about flameseeker) so I would be curious to see what Anet would say if somebody put a topic in front of them discussing the state of the other legendary effects politely and constructively.

At this point, an update may tick off players who chose some of the legendaries solely due to how tacky and dumb they looked - I've seen a lot of players aiming for Quip for that reason alone.

I'm all for new Legendaries, and I'm all for legendary maces that aren't disco balls attached to trumpets, but not every legendary has to be taken seriously; and trying to "repair" the damage done may just lead to new anger. New particle effects aren't hugely difficult to add to the game - I'd suggest just waiting for more legendaries before starting the grind if there aren't any that appeal to you.
