Tip for people using shift = dodge

The problem with it is that when i wanted to use shift to post a waypoint or item in chat, i would dodge first.
Just realized that if my chat window is active (ie when i pressed enter to type), shift obviously will not make me dodge.

Really wish they made those things keybindable instead of using fixed keys.

I struggled and struggled with dodging, but after binding it to the MMB, I can't imagine using anything else.

Pretty much this lol. Every time I PUG I always warn beforehand "if I write in caps, it's because I have the dodge on caps lock, I'm not yelling at you."

Also, drawing on the map is shift+drag - no ctrl alternative as far as i'm aware.

Oh my gosh, ahahahaha. XD
I've actually gotten used to using the "v" key for dodging. It might be a little awkward at first, but it grows on you after a while.

But with dodge on v you can't actually strafe right AND dodge (d+v), unless you use the thumb to press v (and you risk to press the spacebar then).
The fact is that the pinky it's often sitting there on the keyboard doing nothing, so binding dodge on a key reachable by it it's way better imo than any other left hand dodge key.

I tried a Razer Nostromo pad. It's not bad, but after having switched to a Filco mechanical keyboard, I can't really go back to *any* membrane keyboard/keypad, it just doesn't feel right.

Huh? Mechanical keyboards have all switches as actuators. The force needed to press the keys is lower than any membrane keyboard, so they're less "fatiguing", and you get the tactical (at least) feedback when you press a key (I switched from a G510 Logitech keyboard, and many times I didn't get the tact. feedback when pressing a key).
I spend a lot of time at the pc not only for gaming, but for work, I type a lot and since I got the Filco, I am effectively less fatigued even after long sessions of typing.
And I've to disagree about the "mech. keyboards suck for gaming", I play better on the Filco than I was on the G510 or the Nostromo. Of course, there's an ergonomic argument, which is different for every player/hand (dimension of the palm, finger length, etc.), but I generally prefer a slight higher key height and less actuation force needed even when playing.

By middle mouse button do you mean wheel click? I thought it wasn't bindable in GW2?
Yep, the scroll wheel click button

If I remember right, both work but left ctrl does it immediately and enters it immediately. But left shift links it in your chat box so you can type after it, backspace it and you have to manually hit enter.
And wow, you'd think the page would refresh after you hit something to quote it. I've been busy and got ninja'd a lot.

How are you going to press V/B/Shift/Control/etc when you have to dodge in corner direction(since it require 2 keyboard at the same time)?
I believe mouse nowadays has M3 and M4, and it is your best interest to use that for dodging.

I was thinking the same when I read about the capslock dodge
I simply double click, haven't had problems with vistas and/or jumping puzzles yet. Except when I dodged when I wanted but shouldn't...

Shhh!
I sneezed and head butted my keyboard, that's my excuse and im sticking to it!
OT: When I started playing GW2 I got out the trusty Belkin TE gamepad and the thumb button was perfect for dodging.
