So I've been tinkering with this ^

Trying to make the dagger mainhand/meleemancer more viable, I built it alongside a Spectral - Life Force setup. With Spectral Walk and Pack runes, you're a warp speed monster... all of the time. Pair this with your cripples, chills, and Grasp, and you're essentially unavoidable. With Energy sigils, you can stay mobile and defensive, and obviously run away from any dangers. Spectral Wall is a gorgeous move once you get the hang of it, and will greatly increase your survivability too. Recall in extreme emergencies, or for trickery/positioning.

You'll still get a wallop packed elite, as well as Death Shroud's synergy with your control skills and vulnerability stacks.

Overall, the build is simple - Immob/Cripple/Chill your targets, keep perpetual swiftness, kite around your targets spamming your dagger skills, and interrupt key moves/escapes.

It's not the most powerful or "meta" build for sure - but it's fun, and god is it nice to have 24-7 super speed :P

Not to mention - you're a melee Necro... nothing's cooler than being a sprinting avatar of death itself!

Thoughts?

Try using earth sigils instead of energy. Take advantage of your crit and decent condition damage from the rabid amulet.

I have to try this. I'm not sure the context of where it's good at. I play a melee tanky wellmancer and I love how people don't seem intimidated at the fact that I'm running towards them instead of kiting.

Can I ask why daggers are split? For me axe is kind of like staff. You spam all the skills once and you're done with it. Axe + warhorn basically means face roll 4-5-3-2 and then swap out (maybe skip axe #3). The only reason why I'd see daggers split would be if you got the +movement speed trait and OH and MH dagger doesn't stack.

This build is surprisingly tanky with pure spectral. How much does Lich Form auto-attack crit for on players (sPvP) ?

You know - I had the Earth sigils, but then I found myself in people's faces so much that I really needed the Energy. Maybe that's just me, but for things like Thieves and Mesmers, dodging is the only way I can get out of gross amounts of damage when in Melee range like that.

Good point made though, and I agree with you. It's just my playstyle, but the Earth sigils are def a solid choice.

Ah, good question -

Axe is a midrange weapon (I agree), and I also treat it like a mini staff. The Dagger offhand is also a ranged style weapon, and with skills like Enfeebling Blood and Deathly Swarm, I like to use those as fight controllers. I set up Enfeebling on my hard hitters pre-fight at midrange, and I can use Swarm to Blind tagets either before they get to me, or to protect teammates already getting attacked. Best of all is that it's a good ender for when you know you're bested. You already move at ultra speed, so just run away when you're getting beat on... assuming you have conditions - just heal (Consume bonus), about face 180, then Swarm your enemy the old conditions. :)

As for having the Horn on your Dagger mainhand - as I run in, I can cripple seamlessly with my Locust just before I engage. Also, you're a meleemancer and constantly right on top of your target, which is right where you'll need to be if you ever want to 100% connect with Wail of Doom (this is your bread and butter for downed guys and people helping them get up). Timing WoD well is the difference a lot of the time in my bigger fights, and you NEED it on your main weapon set and in melee range. That cone can be a little rough to aim otherwise.

Lich's Deathly Claws hits hard as hell out there. I can get you real numbers after work.

This build is oddly VERY tanky... in a Thiefy kinda way too.

Edit:

Also, take Vampiric Precision instead of Dagger Mastery - that was a mistake on my part when I posted the build. It synergizes a lot more.

I stay away from all siphon traits because I don't know how effective they are. Like the grandmaster well siphon trait lets me steal hp at 25 a second, yay?

Oh btw, 2 stacks of superior energy on same weapon pair does not stack I think. At least it doesn't work for my unicorn thief. One starts the 9s cooldown and other gets voided.

the energy sigils are on two different weapons. Should work fine as long as you swap outside of the 9s window.

thanks for the build. trying it out and it's a lot of fun. but something was missing. as i was going over the build, i realized your choice of amulet makes no sense, as you barely have any means of stacking conditions. so why the condition damage?

precision makes sense. there's way too much swiftness (more than needed for perma), so runes can be modified. not enough vit. and like no power.

im gonna try with soldier amulet + rampage jewel. crit is lower, but you gain 6k health, some toughness and a lot of power. with precision sigils, crit aint too bad at all. cheers.

Sadly Precision and Toughness don't get a lot of good amulets, thus Rabid - but I agree that it's not the most optimal choice. I'm a Toughness freak, so I go for max durability at all costs.

Let me know which rune/amulet choice works best for you though - I'd really appreciate your input, and I'm glad you're enjoying the build. It's been a total blast in PvP for me.
