So right now the humble bundle has Darksiders, Metro 2033, Red Faction: Ermergerddin, Company of Heroes, CoH Opposing Fronts, CoH Tales of Valor. and if you pay over the average (5.70! ) you get Saints Row: The Third. Hort de fork. The catch is that this bundle is windows only and steam keys only but still. Hort de fork.

Weirdly enough, I had some guy add me after I bought this pack who said that he knew my account username and password (which he then proved). Fortunately, he advised me to change my passwords/security questions as he said if he could hack into my account, so could others, and they wouldn't be too forgiving. I'm not sure whether Humble has anything to do with this but just be careful guys! I was literally inches away from having my Steam account stolen and I have over 100 games on there :/

More details: Steam Guard
This is something I'd recommend all user's of Steam use. It might cause some minor troubles if you switch computers a lot, but it can help keep your account safe - and is 100% free to use.
As for what happened to you, there are different issue's/causes here - your machine could be infected with spy/mal-ware and you got keylogged via that, your have a steam forum account which has the same login username & password as your steam account - Steam Forums were hacked quite a few months back which might explain how they had your details, Someone has managed to hack/crack Steam (though why they would add you and tell you... I couldn't say), Someone cracked/hacked steam and leakes/spread the details and you ran across a good Samaritan who told you about it, someone randomly guessed your details and got it right... just to name a few.
Seeing as you don't have to log into steam at all when buying from humble bundle (please correct me if I'm wrong), I'd say the issue here is not really with them. When you purchase off them, you should be provided working keys that you then add to steam. So technically, they should never see your steam username and password at all. I'd check your system for malware, spyweare, keyloggers, change your password, make sure your steam account login is different to your steam forum login (if you have one), etc.
