The Black, The Sanctum, The Isle - Round 3 - Fight!

It's a shame, because I like close matches(Like last week), where you have to fight for every bit of ground you can take. That said, what's really puzzling me is why IoJ seems to be focusing on Blackgate. I know I sound biased here, but it'd make more strategic sense to go after SoR to try to secure 2nd place, wouldn't it?
Whatever the end result is, I'm enjoying myself, and both SoR and IoJ have been putting up a decent fight so far.

I applaud them for coming after us. The goal, after all, is to win. The closer their score is to First place, the more rating they gain. They can do the same to the 2nd place team, but they would not gain as much rating. Coming after 1st place is a surefire way to stay in a tier. They'll come back strong the rest of the week. I guarantee it.

Why play for second?
SoR seems to spend more time in IoJ bl than black gate bl but that is because Hills is 100 times better than bay.
Also IoJ night time guilds seem to spend more time on sor bl than black gates.

Because IoJ hasn't got a hope in hell for first place. If they continue what they're doing now, they're going to end up third with (probably)Blackgate in first.
No offense, to IoJ, I just doubt IoJ will catch up to Blackgate's lead.

The PS2's new game smell will wear off in a few weeks, right around the big patches planned in Jan/Feb, with Feb apparently being the big WvW update.
I'd expect free transfers to end in Feb at the latest, if not sometime in Jan.
So make sure you are settled on your server of choice by then, and know who might come out of the woodwork later on.

And it matters what that only one person had it? It's not like the people who didn't have the buff on IoJ had anymore allies than the one person who did, all it shows is that they've been downed once since they got it.
Bashing the video is something worth discussing, are you serious? And yes it does matter that no outmanned buffs were seen until the assault was basically over. Not Thais fault IoJ can't defend an outlook.

You are misinterpreting me. I'm saying discussing WvW is something worth discussing, as opposed to what was going on before that post, and you still seem to have a hard time understanding what an outmanned buff is.
I'm not criticizing the video or BG attacking us, but there's no logic in thinking that IoJ had any kind of significant presence anywhere in that video.

- Lack of WvW incentive.
- Holidays. (Its amazing to think some people have families they want to spend time with isn't it?)
- New games being released. ( Such as Planetside 2.)
- College Finals this week and next for most. <-- ( I fit here.)
Maybe IoJ has a lot of students?

players from sor and ioj doing everything together, including fighting against BG, I am glad to see that.
What could you possibly do with a mesmer friend from another server? well...if i had one, hmmm, I might hide the fugitive in a corner at my garrison and hey I've checked, it's all clear.
of course, it was me
I don't normally oppose friends in different servers as long as they don't harm the server. But we won't know what they are doing when nobody sees.
but I mean? if you really want to do everything together, why don't you just get a free transfer?
It is not costly at all. Do you really love SOR soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much?

Well, to be honest if BG is 1st by a big margin I completely expect the 2nd and 3rd place to have some "focus", wipe out as many holdings as they can and then spend the rest of the match-up punching each other over 'who gets 1st.
That to some extent happened quite a bit for a the first few match-ups and kept BG's PPT down to a much lower level than it would have been otherwise. Not so much in this one, but theres other factors at play as well for population.
But meh, I'm a Blackgate OG and seen the worst anyone's got, probably given it back a few times too...
Outmanned buff? = Target rich environment of bag farming + pack arrow carts & bolt throwers
No keep? = Target rich environment of bag farming + pack rams & catapults
Outmanned & No keep = Get smart, learn to ninja... pack ninjas

nobody's having fun for a month now in Janthir. it's not fun when the population is severely imbalanced and guilds are leaving every single week. and you simply do not have players that can even fill 1 map
you should make a topic the fate of isle of janthir

Ratings have stabilized because servers are far less volatile. A server going up or down, especially in the upper and lower tiers, has become less common. This can be attributed to a typical curve where the highest and lowest ratings in each region can be considered outliers. The highest concentrations of ratings within one standard deviation are under the largest portion of the curve giving middle-tiers (3-6) the highest potential to change with servers going up and down from week to week. The bottom of Tier 6 and the top of Tier 3 being a relative wall where a lot of change is required in order for them to move upward or downward, respectively. So unless a server overperforms and blows out a closely rated opponent, or a server throws a match and doesn't perform within the algorithm of score ratios that their rating projects, servers will experience minimal change in the current state.

IoJ did beat SoR last week indicating that they have every ability to be a better server if they put in the effort. Poaching Oceanics from IoJ, their strongest time zone, is not the solution. Taking those guilds would make IoJ plummet in ranking and you would effectively be killing a server, not to mention making in a 1v1 not a 1v1v1 since IoJ wouldn't have any presence. Finding guilds in lower brackets that are looking for higher tier servers with more activity is likely your best bet. What you are implying now is that everyone should come over to SoR so that you can beat "Big Bad Blackgate" when that is the opposite of what should be done. Blackgate doesn't have incredible coverage, but when it comes down to it we put in the long hours and we do the boring things like running yaks and repairing walls. Take an introspective look at yourselves as a server before you attempt to take the only thing that is keeping IoJ competitive.
