Well I have to stay they were very very optimistic, but I think it's a good read nevertheless. I found this part really interesting:

So Colin says the January/February updates will be bigger than the previous ones. That sounds nice as I think these content patches were pretty big already (though the halloween event was only for a limited time and the november one was simply not that good, I think I don't have to say why).

And the combined of the two will be an expansion's worth of content? I guess he's exaggerating, but still good to hear that. Hope this means we'll get new zones, weapons (mesmer MH pistol yay), new pvp modes, new personal story quests, better LFG tool, guesting, bug fixes and such.

Nah I won't get excited anymore, but I do hope I'll be surprised at the beginning of the new year.

Just as I thought. It takes them a shorter amount of time to introduce content into the game than it takes to straighten out the bunked-up, gameplay-breaking profession skill/trait bugs.

I'd rather not give them the benefit of the doubt.

It's easier to just keep pushing out more content so you can flex your broken/bugged issues in than it is to fix your broken/bugged issues.

This game is in a sad state of management.  Everything is being done from a lazy development perspective.  I feel they took the real devs off the team to work on some other game or something and you just have monkeys using tools to make content.

Meh...if they unlock sylvari/asura areas going deeper into the Maguuma jungle or Ring of Fire for me to explore I'll be happy. Please, please no more grindy instances >.<

Yeah I would be much happier if they fix bugs and add important stuff (guesting, LFG tool for example) instead of adding trivial new content. My biggest problems are the "epic" one time events that are everything but epic. They wasted too much time & effort on them only to piss off many people. (Ok they are working on giving rewards to those who got DC, but what about the people they left out with this awesome idea because they are living in a different timezone?)

I don't have any problem with new content if they don't forget to work on current problems. The game is good but still lacks of important things, if this "expansion's worth of content" are basicly adding those stuff, it'll bring back a lot of players. As I said, I won't get excited and I'll just wait how it'll turn out. If arenanet does things right with these big patches and will sort out many of the current major problems, it has a good chance to live long as a successful MMO.

They said free content. I'm almost 100% sure that Canthan and Elonan expansions will cost some money (and have further free updates after too).

The 'events' part of the November... sucked.. but Ascended Items, Fractals (my most fun in the game in a long time), the new sPvP man and the other permanent additions are amazing Contents that people seem to have forgotten were added when they think about how much to the game was actually ADDED.  Loved it, loved it.  I am excited to see whats to come. Events are events meh, I am more interested in what comes and stays then how the content is delivered . but this is coming form someone who misses anything that happens on the weekends because I don't play (thus missed all the events for Lostshore).  This is just my opinion though.

If they really keep this up..i am really pleased. I can say that i didn expect this much content over such short period of time. i find it rly rly great.

And some people should learn how a company works. As we know, new content isnt equalling bugfixing and both things happen att the same time. es they release enw content, they learn from mistakes, which reduces amoutn of bugs and helps polishing the res of the content. ont he other hand..i never encountered a bug that wa sgamebreaking for me..

that said...loving the actual updates. this is great news.

WvW will never be fixed from a culling issue anytime soon. The zerg performance makes WvW unfun.
Lostshore was a joke. Does anyone actually go to that zone now?

More than half the post in a thread about new content consists of complaining.


As for people talking about nothing new for WvW: Read the article. There is a rather clear part about WvW, specifically this:

Time will tell, but 1 of the fractals maps was in the Jade Sea, so there is already some Cantha content in the game

Yeah, they messed up big time with that area. I went there yesterday. Totally dead and empty. There is just no good reason to go there. There are hardly any events (and the few that exist aren't interesting). I love seeing new areas, but I want something interesting please. Something worth going back to. Which is why I want Cantha. I want to know what's up over there. Though it's true they probably would save that for a real expansion. But maybe they will prove us wrong.

I'm impressed how they're updating the game every month and a bit excited about the big upcoming updates. However, after the recent fiasco my excitement is sadly dampened and I'm actually a bit wary of what will be added to the game. I was still very much a fan of the game until learning that vertical progression will be in the game. But still this game has been very well worth my money and still continually adding more content.

It should be updated in the coming months.  I know they have plans of doing so.

I've liked most of what they've added so far, and am excited to see what they'll add next! (You know, I've been begging for Airships in WvW since WvW was announced...and I don't care if Christmas gifts are late...)

i think they should fix the bugs first,come on im still getting stuck in pvp in the loading sreen,after fixing the bugs they should improve the quality of what we have atm,like the skins of the legendary weapons suks we should be able to pick diferent skins,we still dont have a LFG option,the balance in pvp its not balance at all.and how about a way for crafting a precurssor ? Insted of gambling 1000 rares into the forge?i had high hopes for this game,but they are "forcing us" to run over and over fotm dungeons,and adding grind and 1 time events (bugged events even)im upset with the current situation of the game,so sorry if i dont sound to happy with the new content being released soon.

For some reason I'm not excited at all. These so called content patches are lame and boring. Create new zone with mobs in it and few events, one grindy dungeon. Well thats just makes me yawn. I hope for next update they will bring something new and exciting, like new pvp mode and fix those damn bugs of traits/skills etc. I can't believe how they can ignore so many bugs. Even half tool tips are either wrong or skills/traits not working as written.
So my expectations are very low.

As much as I'd love new content I feel that the current one is too bugged and they should've focused on fixing them all.
For example, Temple of Balthazar has been Contested in Desolation for over a month now (last time was in October's Halloween update) and there are people trying to do it but some reinforcements just get stucked somewhere in their chain and it's very easy for the Balth priest to 1hit us all since we don't have all the Pact Reinforcements. And NO I do not want to change my Server.

Also some have Arah's gate closed (even though ours have been miraculously opened for a week now ). I wish they'd fix the Event chains first, or at least have those Karma vendors placed  non-stop at those temples.
This is really my main frustration other then some dungeons getting bugged occasionally. Which is ok inless it's Arah because that one takes too long to do.

it honestly appears that they are trying to gear people up for paid content.  i just red the exmphasized portion and its almost like,

"you guys should be really happy and grateful and totally appreciative cuz you are getting all of this content totally free, in fact all the content we've given to you is practically something we've couldve charged you for as it is"

idk, thats what i got out of it, i really dont like that dude's tone.

im not  saying they will be introducing a monthly fee, i think its too late at this point, but it does appear that paid content updates are on their way.

Well, why wouldn't they be?
We have known since long before release that there would be paid expansions, so why would anyone be surprised if we got paid expansions?

The fact that we have already gotten more for free than most P2P games releases in a year is quite impressive.
