I'm afraid that if anything is going to happen to bring us Canthan new year, it'll be a questline and donation fund to rebuild the collapsed Canthan quarter.
That would already be very cool though.

On a serious note, they have pumped out a lot of content. I hope they can fix the Lost Shores content eventually, but in the meantime I hope that they know what to do with this next content update in regards to keeping it going, rather than having it as a weekend event and leaving it to die.
Yea I was kinda disappointed with the new zone too.. Hope they make interesting in new updates.
On the other hand, if they can keep their promise with a new content patch every month, that's never been seen before, not even in P2P MMO's.

For the rest I think the fotm dungeon runs are quite enjoyable, even though the rewards are a bit subpar compared to the regular dungeons.

Makes sense for them to implement more customization as that will sell their makeover kits
And as usual people focus too much on the negative and take the positive for granted. Yes, some bugs have been in for a ridiculous amount of time (Arah gates being a prime example) but they have fixed a lot in the past and we should see more fixed going forward, possibly released at the same time as the bigger content patches to prevent having to release small updates all the time and boot everyone off on regular basis (remember: "a new client update is available, you will be logged out in 3 minutes"). If they don't fix bugs that matter then that sucks but as long as the positive outweighs the negative I'll keep playing.

Can't speak for all, but, a massive overhaul of WvW is overdue. In its current state, I just don't find it interesting. It seems like a huge gold sink. GW2 WvW, by itself, could be the most effective element in the game to keep people engaged without the need to ever develop grindy instance mechanisms.
While they all speak alot about WvW and make Camelot/DAoC references in the interviews but, in reality, they have given it the least amount of focus so far. It really looks like a minigame. I'd rather have WvW groups/squads being formed in LFG than relentless LFG/M FoTM X. Its an MMO. Let it be truly be Massive.
I hope their Jan/Feb content enhances WvW without giving access to anothe southsun cove.

The beauty of it all is that they released a game bugged beyond belief, and their half-incompetent "fixes" are interpreted as -working hard for the game and community- by the hardcore GW2 fans.
They also released the game in 2012 with barely any features and game modes, even without those BASIC, standard ones, and their POTENTIAL, vague plans in that department manage to incite excitement in the previously mentioned group of people. Sad, or funny?
- Car manufacturer: "We are happy to announce that we released the latest model of our car in 2012 with no tires, no steering wheel and no seats. But we are looking into it and MIGHT add them later down the road. Also, the wipers, the central locking system and fuel injection aren't working but we are working hard on fixing that"
- The masses: "Wow, this is the best car manufacturer EVER! What a car! We might even get all of the standard -equipment- Yugo has and which is essential for a car to serve it's basic purpose. This looks really promising." <orgasm>

This is my routine. Sometimes on the weekends i can find groups, but during the weeks... no. I also was stuck on level 1 of FOTM for a long time, because each time I'd do it one or two people would crash or get teleported out to lions arch for no reason. Now, I'm pretty much alienated from all of the higher tier "FOTM" runs, and barely anybody does regular dungeons because the rewards aren't as good even though they are decent. The FOTM money infusion has brought tremendous inflation to the game, too, because gear that I was chasing after jumped up in price by 100% in one week. I said "eff it" and bought the generic version with the exact same stats and purchased the identical sigil to complete my set for less money.
This is all compounded by the current community. Say "LFG" more than twice in five minutes, and they yell at you for spamming. Sorry, but if there was a dungeon finder or an adequate LFG tool I wouldn't have to say it ONCE.

We have known since long before release that there would be paid expansions, so why would anyone be surprised if we got paid expansions?
The fact that we have already gotten more for free than most P2P games releases in a year is quite impressive.
Can I give you my copy of this crappy game, and you give me my money back please? Because I don't see this as a good deal. I "received" a half-baked crap game and blew my money. ANet received more than they deserved, not us. With all this "free content" we "received" we still don't have a polished, fun, complete game it should have been in the first place on it's very release AND for the 60$ we spent on it.

And no, nobody goes to the Lostshores. It's dead. So here's hoping they learn from that mistake as well
The reason for that is because there is practicaly nothing of value except a few very rare mini's.

For once I am inclined to be totally in agreement. But there will also be unfulfilled promises of improvements to content already in the game, new shiny items to grind for and a unique cash shop item that does nothing useful and can only be worn in town clothes slots. Also, the exchange rate of cash-to-gold will be balanced by an influx or reduction of an essential item... Get your credit card ready and grind grind grind!!

You know, you can always change 1 letter in "LFG Fractals xxx/ LFG Dungeon xxx" and make a hell lot of difference. Replace G with M and have fun.
My goal in GW2 is to do everything by Pugging. I have pugged for everything. Many of the people who ran with me once, came back to run with me again. So, I believe, I do not suck way too much. I would be in your boat if I did LFG in LA. But, whenever I log on, I spam LFM.. I do not form FotM groups as I have experienced all the instances within first 5 levels and I have no intent/energy of getting anything from that place.
However, QQ about FotM aside, forming groups for dungeons nowadays maybe hard but, please do not give up. Most refreshing experience in MMOs, for me, comes from meeting new people/characters every single evening when I have time to log on. Doing the same thing over and over again with the same group of people, however challenging, will become too boring for me eventually. So, I don't believe in LFG; I do LFM and have a lot of fun!

Just one, and it is guarded by champion karka, to boot. Yes, there is a way around it, but it is not like we can just stroll in merrily (we still have to wade through mobs from the beach to the hive, mind you). Not to mention the karma merchant that sell orichalcum pick in Bakestone Cavern that is now full of 20+ young karkas or something (they do not exist during the introduction of the Southsun Cove, so I will wear a tinfoil hat and say it is the Anet's doing to prevent us from getting to the merchant).

As an expansion, there won't be a full continent's worth of content. Even if they were to add Cantha, you wouldn't get near as much land covered as Factions - at best, you'll get Eye of the North's amount of content.
As I see it, since the two content updates will likely be separate, we'll get two focuses that are each the size of half an expansion. So I would see each one being 1-3 full zones and maybe a dungeon, perhaps with personal storyline that's post-Zhaitan.
This to me would indicate we'll go into the Far Shiverpeaks and face Jormag as one of them, and the other either being focused on Fort Vandal/Maguuma Wastes and the bandits, possibly Nightmare Court as well (which out of all racial enemies - NC, bandits, and SoS got the smallest conclusion), or into the Crystal Desert and face Kralkatorrik.
I suspect Jormag because of all the hints about Jormag being the next immediate threats in the game already (from later personal storyline to Frostgorge Sound to Honor of the Waves). And I think they'd want to get through two or three Elder Dragons before going to other continents - and Primordus isn't a big enough threat, imo, to make so much/little content about and finishing him off, and the DSD is off the map.
So I'm expecting these two months to be expansions on Tyria, not going to a new continent which would require a new world map in of itself. Plus by taking out the largest threats to Tyria, you close some reasons to remain in Tyria and thus in turn open some reasons to go to new lands (e.g., Cantha and Elona).
Though I'll settle for some new content in old places too, like a reason to go to Southsun Cove other than to grind grind and grind for... little benefit (and there's so few events there >.>).

I am a very high end pugger here too. Problem is that FoTM is essentially extremly anti- new player/casual/pug friendly. By design if you took a week off of playing you will "lose the curve" as the population of runners in Pugs goes higher and higher and your left in the dust. Once there you have to feed off the "bottom barrel" players to try to make any attempt at progression.
To put it easier to understand: This game was billed as a "play with everyone!" style. The DE's and even explorable dungeons show that (as you can at level 80 run with a level 35 for AC explore just fine). However fractals on that other hand are the exact opposite of this design. They made it into segregated "communities" of each fractal number specifically. I am at level 23 as I have stopped progressing and decided to take a break after the 12/3 patch fixed no major PvE FoTM issues. By the time I come back I highly doubt I will have a good time getting a group. Nor will I run with people pre 20 as I have no use for anything other than a pre-infused ring.
They essentially made the absolute worst dungeon design and due to it being the only way for ascended gear atm, everyone is forced to do them.

Funniest thing ever, sometimes you'll see 10 people next to eachother shouting "LFG FotM lvl1" and they will just keep shouting that, instead of taking action and forming a group themselves.
