1. Open steam
2. Add guild wars 2 with "add non steam game" option
3. Run guild wars 2 clicking "play" on steam. REMEMBER: if you want to run gw2 as administrator, you will need to run steam as administrator as well
4. In game, press shift+tab
5. Click 'community' on the steam overlay, this will bring up steam browser window on top of your game.

This is not 100% "ingame", but more ingame than alt+tab

Sorry if it was mentioned before, couldn't find it if it was.

Am I missing something here? You can add non-steam games to steam and GW2 isn't an exception so not seeing the revelation here...

Here I was, thinking you had found a way to somehow "hack" the ingame browser used in the TP o.a. so we could use it to visit websites while still ingame, without alt-tab or any overlay like Steam.

No, you are not. This is no exception. This is a way to use overlay instead of alttab and since you were aware of it, it is of no use to you - as opposed to those that don't know it yet (like me about a week ago)

Experimental plugin for making Firefox appear inside DirectX applications. I saw a friend of mine use it  I'll ask him.

On the main topic GW2 handles windowed mode almost as well as GW1 did so there's always that possibility.

Haha I remember that. In GW2 if you type /QQ it takes you to the official forums.

Not hard by far, but gets really tedious when you do it once every 2 minutes - call it "first world problem" if you like

Or Enjin has a client that allows you access to music, social media, browsers etc etc such as the OP mentions through Steam.

i was just about to say. . . go to a pawn shop and grab a 21" monitor for 49.99 or less and never look back!  multi monitors is the way personal computing was meant to be.

If you want a better in-game broswer add-on, then find a program called Overwolf. It's design for that purpose plus it works on any games and you dont need to tab out or anything. It also comes with in-game chat tab for msn messenger/Y! messenger/skype, has video recorder (better off using something else), music player and other neat stuff.
