I am curious about the stats of legendary.

Lets take Twilight as an example:

+179  Power
+128  Toughness
+128  Vitality

So, what happens if I do not want these stats? Will there be more legendaries with different stats coming out in the future?

If there are more variety of stats coming out, isn't it extremely unfair for those who made it already?

And transmuting to a desired exo stats seems to be extremely stupid, given that new tiers will be coming out, and legendaries will be bumped up accordingly.

So, are there any dev comments about this?

Or, is there anyone who knows something that i do not know of?

Please shed some light for me on this issue.

Yeah, i haven't seen anymore on this then what Eon has stated. A-net has been very vague about the stats of legendaries and the effects of transmuting legendaries for the stats you want.

They should just make it easy, and have some kind of pop-up like window when crafting you're legendary that allows you to choose from available stat sets.

Transmution for the win?

You can transmute any stat combination that exists on other weapons to your legendary while still retaining the looks and name of the weapon.

This might be problematic when the bump up the stats however.
But they might simply upgrade it to the Ascended level of that specific stat-set.

I'm nearly done with Bifrost, not because I like the stats but because I like the skin.  I would like to transmute to an exotic of my choice but like you said legendaries get the stat bump to be the best and I'd lose the purple prestige text.  So if they add more or let us owners change stats, either way, i'll be pleased.

The only problem with transmuting new stats on a legendary is the item will lose its purple item name. Not a big deal to everyone but if I worked hard to get a legendary I'd like the item to keep the legendary item quality.

Hmm?
I thought the rarity was connected to the name and looks not the stats?
Might be mistaken.

It retains the legendary rarity, but the color of the name changes. Some (including myself) don't want this, and it may effect the stat bump when ascended weapons come out.

Exactly, once you transmute to exo, when ASC gear comes out, you wont get the "bump up" because your gear is now exo instead of legendary tier...

Not necessarily  A-net has stated (if i recall correctly) that they are looking into the loss of Legendary status. I doubt they would not do the bump if you had a transmuted legendary, but unless they make the appropriate changes, you might end up having to put a ticket in to get things straightened out.

They will, maybe. Who ruined his legendary declassing it as exotic, is gone, no refund nor patches for them. Be sure.

I hate ask for source.... as i'm typically too lazy to do so myself, but did A-net state this at some time? or is it just your take based on their track record.

Oh yes, they said plently times you cannot revert something you ruined before a patch comes, and no refund. So, feel free to bet on me.

Some builds may not have vitality or toughness anywhere I guess... For those builds that do have vitality and toughness somewhere, it seems like an easy fix to change around those items (armor or jewelry...) that were using them with desired traits.  If I ever earn one, that is what I will do.

If I were you guys I wouldn't transmute any legendaries. They will get infusion updates that your transmuted exotic will not be able to recieve.
