[deitiesforce]

I'm taking a break from GW2 not because I hate it but right now it just doesn't satisfy what I'm looking for in a game. I'm a casual gamer that played a few mmo here and there. I played GW1 a lot and some other imported games like Rappelz, Talesrunner, flyff (mostly games from gpotato lol). Now i'm looking for a new game to play until GW2 gets up on its feet. I'm gonna tell you what i look for in a mmo. I like casual PVP (FA and JQ in GW1), games that I can jump in and jump out. I actually don't really mind grinding for armor and level if i really have to. Any good mmo shooting game out there? I'm also interesting in playing LoL...opinions on that?

P.S. I don't mind spending money on game like $50~ each month to buy weapon, skin...what not. But i do not like games with stuff that YOU NEED coming out every week that cost a lot because i can't keep up with that.

You might wanna check out RaiderZ which is like Tera light (and Tera is already pretty light so I guess ultra light is more like it).  It's simplistic in a lot of ways but it features the more "action" type combat (no tab targetting, more like FPS style with a tarteting reticule and needing to connect attacks, more dodging than in GW2).  The best thing about Tera is the combat and RaiderZ has almost the exact same combat in a F2P, and it's a Perfect World game so the F2P angle isn't too idiotic.  If you do try this the first 10 levels or so are tutorialesque and very simple, so don't let that throw you too much.

The tab target stand and whack combat of classic MMORPGs feels really weak once you try the action style, IMO.  GW2 is somewhere in between - tab target with some action elements - it's kind of a hybrid between the two styles and itself is a lot better than the classic style.

I think Forge just came out - it's touted as MMORPG PvP without the PvE (interesting idea IMO since I think there are a lot of players that want that).  I'm not that much of a PvPer so I haven't checked it out but the graphics for it look pretty nice and it sounds well designed.

PlanetSide2 is also recently released, F2P, online FPS, with some crazy looking depth and scale (2000 person per server PvP on huge maps with epic sized battles).  I've DLed it and watched some tutorials but again, I'm not much of a PvPers.  Steam's black friday sale lead to numerous game purchases so I'm overloaded right now.  

I'm most interested in Neverwinter for upcoming MMORPGs (action combat with more somewhat more typical class roles, Perfect World, D&D themed) and even though I can't stand most Bethesda games I'm keeping an eye on Elder Scrolls online (lots of potential) but both of those games won't be out for quite a while.  Seems to be a common theme in MMORPGs - the next big thing is always an eternity away.

Sounds like Planetside 2 is the game for you, my friend. The mass PVP is a billion times better with more depth and more action than GW2's.

LoL is very fun game, as a beginner I advice turning all chat off though.
It's very polished, the free champion rotate so you always have a different choice, after a few matches you'll be able to buy your own first champion.

I would certainly recommend it!

Can you give me a bit more information on that? like PVP game mode, learning curve...I must say I've never really play a fps game...at least in a hardcore way

Tera is F2P to lvl 28.

HoN and Dota 2 are the best mobas if you like comeptive gameplay. Bloodline Champion is a bit faster paced moba but not very popular.

It's F2P, you can hop in and join a random squad and get into a huge battle right away, then log out without ever feeling like you're behind the curve. The battles are ENORMOUS. I'm talking columns of 20-30 tanks on either side going at it while a huge air battle goes on above you, all while the infantry tries to infiltrate the base.

There are some moments where I feel like I'm in a scripted event; like I'd run around as an infantry soldier, look up above me, and see 10 Galaxies (air transport that carries 12 players each) with fighter and bomber escorts fly above me to invade my team's base. I've looked out over a cliff to scout, only to be greeted with the sight of an enemy armor column heading toward our position. I've had moments in a bomber squadron when someone calls over the comms that there are enemy fighters incoming, only to see my bomber group scatter and some burst into flames as an enemy fighter wing rips through our formation from below. All of these moments are player-made. Sometimes I even like to just find a high perch near a fight and simply watch everything happen.

Learning curve is non-existent. It's pretty much what Battlefield 3 should have been, except instead of 64 players on a map, you have 2000.

Only problem is whether or not your computer can handle it.

AW i was expecting a new game like Blade n Soul im also bored of GW2 but SWOR, Planetside, Perfect World games anf Free 2 play games .. i dont want more of those.

I mean making friends and stuff. This is one problem that i have with GW2. It doesn't encouraging players to make friends (not that we can't). In wvw you don't really need make friends. I want to have a tight team that has constant communication than....person 1: go shoot that....Person 2: go shoot that... you know what i mean?

It very much encourages teamwork. Most people would say it's boring unless you roll with a squad, which is fairly true. You can still find huge battles as a solo player, but the game takes a major step up once you get into a good Outfit (guild) that works together and cooperates through TS3, Ventrilo, or Mumble. There are several open squads available for you to join as soon as you get into the game, and most of them are Outfits who are recruiting players. You can squad up and join whichever Outfit you feel has the organization and communication you like.

Bleh, PS2. Tried to get into it but couldn't at all.

FPSMMO...Firefall. It is in development right now so there is not a lot of PvE content but what is there is challenging and fun. If you want a beta key DeiteisForce just shoot me a PM.

Firefall is a pretty cool PVE MMOFPS for sure, but PS2 is way better for straight mass PVP.

Yeah, so kind of caters to a different crowd. I enjoy Firefall a lot, I play it the most after GW2. I've tried Planetside 2 and it just didn't click for me. I don't know anyone there and if you play solo it's a pretty miserable experience. But in a group, I imagine it's a fantastic game.

Getting into a group is definitely a 180 degree turn for the better in PS2 for most. It's especially awesome if you get into one of the many Outfits led by real military personnel who use actual military tactics in-game. It's an extremely satisfying experience. I like the PVP FPS a whole lot more because it's a lot more dynamic than fighting NPC's. That's just my preference, anyway.

Did you played WOW? It's getting cheaper now. Complete Pack with 30 days Time Card cost now about €35. And try Diablo 3 for €30. At least i played in it and i really enjoyed

Well, I'd recommend you to try DayZ if you haven't yet. Free roam apocalyptic MMO (I don't know if RPG or shooter really) where the only objective is to survive. I think it is a 200 square meter world to explore where you can encounter zombies, and other survivors (players) who may try to kill you or help you depending on their mood xD. when you kill a player you can steal all of it's loot. When you die, that's it, you have to start again from scratch.
It's a mod for ArmA II and the problem is that you have to spend 25€ (on steam) to get ArmA II Combined Operations to be able to play it.

I often play without the chat, all the times it's a troll/rage fest outweigh the few times people use it for good big time.

But you MUST turn off the chat. Otherwise you'll get flamed to hell and back. Not that anything necessary is going on in the chat...
