Finished the bishops, working on the kings and queens.  They were supposed to be sitting in mounds of crumpled wrapping paper but clay just doesn't fold like paper so it kind of looks like they are bundled in blankets.



Tomorrow will be finishing the knights and glazing time.

@Kiya - Those are great bishops!   Can't wait to a King Quaggen and Queen Quaggen.

@Kiya: I loooove the Quaggan! I think bundled blankets are super cute, better than paper

@Frost: Those two snuggles are way adorable! I adore the plush griffon (have both the tonic and the mini), and I wish I could give mine a squishy hug like this Very Wintersday spirit-y!

Finishing the last 4 quaggans right now, should be ready to bake before the kids get off the bus. Here is a pic of what I did yesterday.

The glaze really helps the colors, especially the black for the top hats and the metallics for the king and queen wrapping and crowns.  I should be done just slightly after kids go to bed tonight.  It will still be the 14th though, east coast time!

@KiyaKoreena - Those would make for one awesome chess game!  I like how you can deduce the unit/role of the pieces based on their designs.

FINAL Final and my time here said 10:19pm on the 14th.  Heehee.  Big picture version too.

Too tired to get the color balance done and out of time.  3 of the knights fell over during baking, so I had to do some creative sanding to fix up those pieces.

I was staring at it this morning thinking something seemed off (even that exact spot) and I never figured it out until it got pointed out. I guess that is why writers have editors.

I have been going through the entries and we have so many wonderful accomplished artworks, it is amazing.  I am a little mournful for the entries that did not make it through to a version that could be considered even nearly finished though.  I really would like to see how they would have turned out.
