As for your lines, looking quite confident! Perhaps you could try a little more variation in thickness of the lines.
Oh and this is a video of ctrl+paint that has a perhaps a bit obvious but nevertheless useful approach toward doing lines.

For anything I can always recommend that website, it's great!

Kittens are cute Trish but rabbits are lethal, surely even the queen of cute can't make them less than scary!

So, if I understand this correctly, the entry idea doesn't have to be connected with wintersday
I have this idea of "The Last Champion of Orr" stuck in my mind for some longer time now, so I guess this is a good opportunity to bring it up to life. Each painting will contain a short text. All put up together will create a story of "The Last Champion of Orr".
Well anyways, if I got something wrongly, just let me know

costume shape considerations and a basic colour scheme
I'm using my old art thread on GW1 guru as a progress gallery because it allows me to link separate posts and not only entire threads

I finished my mini clay Quaggan, but I might re-do it, because I don't like how thick one of the arms got (only noticed it after I baked it... It probably got squished when I dropped the figure on its way to the oven... You have no idea how easy it is to drop a half inch tall mini figure LOL).
Also started on the feet of my golem. It's gonna be made in sections, because I want it to be able to get taken apart (like when they fall apart), then put together.
What do you guys think.... should I try and color it silver base color (with a sharpie on white clay), or keep it white with some red or green lines for festive xmas colors? I don't have enough red or green clay for a full model.

Having the golem silver would mean inking it in with a silver sharpie
I'll try and make a couple of clay sheets, one white, one silver, with red and green lines on the white and light yellow on the silver. Bake them, take a pic, and post it for comparison
I forgot to say that I'm also sick as a mule, so it's all going very slow

So I've posted the inked version and I'll be working on that when I get back from the holidays which won't be until the end of the month
-Any- advice on digital coloring techniques and backgrounds will be greatly appreciated. Esp. pointing issues with the original colored version which I also posted. I know it lacks any shading but any hints for that or doing more would be helpful.

@Doctor: I loved your entry for the calendar!
You have some good base colors, can really pick any for colors for shading and adding value to your drawing. Complimenting colors are always nice to go with. If you're not entirely comfortable with that just pick a darker shade of your base color and lower the opacity. Play around with it til you get the look your going for.
I find it useful to make a myself a color swatch so you're not hunting around for your colors.
For a background, maybe something playing on the idea that she might see other trees around? Perhaps a simple outdoor scene.
