This time they removed the recommended videos section and replaced it with popular / recommended channels? Why the hell would I care about a channel I've never heard of? A channel doesn't deserve my attention unless I know what kind of videos it makes. I loved how I could go on the old Youtube home and find new videos by clicking on recommendations.
I wish they would just stop messing around with Youtube and leave it be. If they're gonna make changes don't remove stuff, but give us additional stuff instead. Let us choose what we want to see.[/rant]

Anyone else annoyed by the new Youtube change?

I dont really get it. Theyre changing youtube every three months... but why? It doesnt change at all! All they do is removing stuff, giving us less options and adding more ads. As Briar said, it seems they change it just for the sake of messing around with some computer program. Tbh, Youtube could be run by 10 people, doing all the REAL changes, while firing the others and let it be.

get Ad-block plus for Firefox. It seems to be the only way to avoid the huge amount of ads added everywhere slowing down your computer...

I still see recommended videos. The only thing that seems to have changed slightly is the styling and position of the video window and the buttons.

I meant on the homepage. It still shows recommended videos when you are on a video page, but then it's only videos related to the one you are watching, whereas Youtube's previous recommended video section on their homepage would show videos recommended based on anything I like to watch.

First the channel design came about so now you have to click about 20 different things to see your own channel comments (which nobody bothers with nowadays anyway because, as I said, you need to click about 20 different things to get there).

Now they move everything around again and have probably screwed up the inbox system so you need a microscope to even see what's waiting for you in your inbox.

What next? Sitting through a 20 second advert of some singer you've never heard before prior to looking at your own channel/inbox?

While the changes seem to be pushing more people to get it remember that the people you subscribe to and enjoy might need ad revenue so would suck to punish them because of YouTube's idiocy.

Hmm, they removed the notice when getting a new comment? I just checked my inbox and saw a new comment was made on one of my videos, yet no notification of it on the homepage?

I have 150mb bandwidth and even 1080p videos load slow and stutter. They need to fix that as well as the layout.

All of the stuff is on the left of the page for me and I have this huge white bit on the right. That's just bad design... so many useful things could go in that space! And no, I don't mean ads...

i really hate not being able to center videos now. i even had a script in firefox to default the button that would enlarge and center the videos on every page ever, cause i always want them in the middle of the screen. now the entire box is on the left and there is a HUGE gaping white space in the right for no reason and doing nothing but lowering the lifespan the pixels in my screen.

i absolutely hate this shit.

I like it. It's far from perfect, but I like it. I'm not a fan of how they're clearly trying to push you into watching other channels, but it's understandable from a business perspective. What really bothers me though is that this is like the 3rd-4th time it's changed this year (that's what it feels like anyway) and I don't understand why the feel they need to change it so much. It honestly seems like change it solely for the sake of changing it.

There's only so much you can do with a site like Youtube since the content comes from users and not Google. I know Youtube is kind of a big deal, but I feel there are other Google products and services that could use some love. Ya know...like Google+ for one.

Generally I dont subscribe to anyone and the rare videos I watch are almost always by Mr 100k subscribers and they dont really need my revenue.

i hate that i cannot download the video anymore :\ i am learning to knit , every time i want to check back on a particular stitch, i have to wait for the video to load ,.... buy the time it is done i am already not interested, and start playing GW2....

Do you use Firefox? Because there are still addon's for FF that still allow video's to be downloaded from YouTube. I've had to switch addon's recently because the one I was using stopped working. I now use Easy YouTube Video Downloader 6.5 which works just fine. Google Chrome won't allow YouTube video's to be downloaded - it just blocks it no matter what extension/addon for Chrome I tried... but good ole FF still works  - for now at least, but seems YouTube/Google want to block all downloads... which frustrates me no end as I have a data limit on my usage... so can't just go watch and re-download video's all the time (and all video's I download are not copyrighted stuff anyways)

As for this new change.... It's annoying. I also hate the pushing of video channels rather than video's itself. I generally don't use them, but I found a few of the channels I subscribe to now via recommended/similar video's that showed on the right hand side... now I'm wondering what video's/channels I might miss because that feature is gone. And arrg.. why is everything left-orientated? Gah.. if your going to force a limited width to your site.. at least have it centered. User's should not have to use an addon like Stylish to resolve an issue that should not be an issue imo.
