Hello everyone, and welcome. This is my new segment to this website:

What is Know your Gurus, you may ask?

It's simple, twice a week, a different person will be in the spotlight. When that person is in the spotlight, you can ask them

ANYTHING YOU WANT, even non-gaming questions!*

After that person's turn, their KYG thread will be locked and a new one will be started, with a different person. That means that if you don't get to ask your question in the 3-4 days the member is in the spotlight, you'll have to....... well, find some other way to ask them.

What's the point of this new segment, you may wonder? To put it simply, to get to know each other better. Feel free to ask crazy or unusual questions, but make sure to read the above asterix, it's a doozy! Heck, ask complete nonsense questions (Why did the brick build a cheeseburger?) if you want, just to see their response.

Please note that just because you ask a question, it doesn't mean that the person in the spotlight has to answer it, but they DO need to reply to it, so expect something, even if it's just a "I will not answer that". Despite this restriction,

you can ask as many questions as you want, but try to keep them in only one post.

Keep in mind that others have questions to ask too, so don't go too overboard on the number. Keeping it short of a dozen is just common politeness.

Also important, you may not get into dicussions with other members than the spotlight member. This segment is only to get whoever is in the spotlight to be more well know. If you're wanting to ask someone else something, you'll either have to wait for their own spotlight, or ask some other way.

It's kinda stagnant at the moment. Real work commitments are making less and less room for things like that. Apparently that's what being a grown up is like.

I haven't done anything with mumble in probably a year or so. Then again, no one else has either.

No, IPB is still craptastic. It really limits what we can or want to do with the forums.

I've seen lemming not sarcastic a time or two. It was weird.

I love downhill mtb but I don't currently ride. Not a whole lot of places around here to do that anyway. Not to mention that equipment is wicked expensive.

The forums...well they're different. To say almost everything has changed wouldn't be too far off I think. Everything from the staff to the userbase has changed. The tone of the community is completely different, although the same rabid fandom is still present. Mostly it just makes me a little sad. The potential that was there that now isn't, the missed opportunity, and the wasted effort. Not everything is doom and gloom, but mainly it was just disappointing to see people who new Anet/NCsoft before this, knew what to expect - and still to see them someone disappointed.

Kattar was an evolution of Katsumi. I used to use kat_r on in the IRC server cause someone else always had Katsumi already. When I became a mod I didn't particularly care to have my in game name listed on my mod account, so I eventually changed it. That, and the pornstar jokes got a little old.

None at the moment. That way no one will be expecting it.
