I think as Tier 1, we just started discussing what is going in to our battles and why SoS keeps the lead, as often as they do.

I posted this in the other thread.  If your Server is not attacking the Server with the most points, your Server is giving free points to the Server that is already in the lead. This is currently what is happening in Tier 1.

SoS is and has been capitalizing on SBI and JQ pushing each other around the maps, while SoS continues to average a higher ppt.  These are not the days of HoD, as some have mentioned (all map domination,) these are the days of SoS being smart, playing smart and taking advantage of the other two servers.

Be mindful of what SoS is doing, is what we are saying.

Seems like you all are having a blast.

Just remember that you should understand game theory before complaining about the state of things. Odds are, your strategy needs some tweaks.

When you're in third, you play for second until you overtake second. When you're in second, you play for first. Unfortunately, this always makes it so second place can NEVER catch first place. JQ does it, SBI does it. We all want to move up. Let's call it what it is. Third sucks. Third is a rotten pear filled with maggots and hate. Second is kinda like cold pancakes with no syrup. It's gross, but it's better than rotten pear filled with maggots and hate.

So, here we are. And here we will be. Forever T1.

One thing I have noticed tho is many times the PPT is 200s across the board. That to me says people still go for points, not revenge. I know that a few SBI wackos claim this hatred for JQ causes their actions. It's not. It's points.

Why did they atack us instead of driving SoS off the map? Because SoS was the only thing keeping JQ from owning all of EB. If we threw their asses out, SBI was soon to follow. So, they release SoS and POOF! JQ is no longer earning 350 +. EB is a funny little land. None of the big guilds take it seriously. Commanders hate it. So when JQ decided to try our little stunt, I think SBI didn't know how to react. No one ever tries to capture and hold lowlands! That's silly! Not anymore.

EB is about to change. Keeps are fair game, not just to flip, but to hold. That's a scary idea to the 'just do okay on EB and hold our lands' crowd. In fairness, SoS did it to JQ first, but couldn't hold.

EDIT: about the JQQ nickname. Wear it with pride. They WILL drown in our tears!

This guy speaks the truth.  Look around.  I am not saying that SoS is the only one doing this.  JQ does it at times as well.  It's just smart play.  Last night on EB (wanted to do EB for a change rather than the borderlands like usual), SoS kept going for our supply camps as we were wrapped up with JQ at the Ogres even though SoS was trying to take back SM from JQ, they still ahd people coming for our supply camps.

Hmm I play a decent amount of time playing WvW and a lot of times i don't see SBI and SOS teaming up... I see more JQ and SOS trying to push off SBI from EB. I was there for that big 2-3 three way battle for Overlook this week. JQ was trying to camp our spawn while SOS was trying so hard to take the keep. There was even an incident where JQ was trying to take Klovan then the minute SBI moves for WC... JQ starts hitting us from the back giving up Klovan.. i mean wtf lol? For me and I'm sure a good amount of SBI feels the same, we want first place, but more often than not JQ starts hitting our points along SOS and puts as on the defensive. Also I rarely see JQ hopping to SOS BL before hopping to SBI BL. If JQ really wants first then maybe you guys should hit SOS the ones with the most PTT over hopping to our map and capping stuff. It might not happen right away but if JQ and SBI keeps hitting SOS points first all the time eventually people will catch on...I know for me that's what I'm doing lol.

I think it's about time JQ and SBI stops being manipulated by SOS and just hit their damn points consistently. If they're ticking for 50 all week they wont be first thats for sure lol.

  No worries, JQQ....it's been a long time since Stei represented the bulk of your server. We just call you JQQ for the sake of rivalry, now.

   On Stei's QQ issues, though....I have NO IDEA what he's talking about.

   At least on the borderlands, my group has come to plan ahead for JQQ's pushing us hard at the expense of letting SoS take everything behind their front lines.

   It happens almost nightly where JQ throws everything at SBI and even pushing our spawn tower, while losing both supply camps and Bay/Hills in the process.

Should see EB all i'll say on that nothing but avoiding SoS from SBI at all times. I've seen SBI push SoS once. Doesn't treb SM when SoS has it does nothing just sits and attacks only JQ when SoS having SM is the tactical advantage. But it's whatever we can focus SBI just as well as SBI can focus us

What? Pretty sure over the span of Saturday and Sunday SoS destroyed close to 30 trebs at overlook because they kept trebbing sm. In fact we were surprised JQ hadn't pushed us, well until that golem rush into lowlands. Too many people on this forum think they are always the victim. Some kind of hack or exploit or some unspoken alliance.

As much as i hate these 4 week matches >.>, i'm kinda liking the little rivalries and this weird little community that is building from them. AGG and SF fighting it out on a nightly basis just to have fun, the fact alot of us know each other pretty well at this point and can come here or on official forums to have a good laugh or 2. I mean even in t2 apparently REV(blackgate guild) and TW(IoJ) are hosting 1v1 duels on certain BLs and KnT going toe to toe with Hire. just interesting to see how the tiers are adapting to these long battles. I still wish anet would get rid of the stupid defender/invader tag. i like knowing who is killing me lol

Which really caused problems when we started that week in third. Hmm....

Just wish I could get more time to play. PS2 is totally bleh to me and watching vids of DFUW makes me cringe. Wuvwuv must survive!

Was watching the map the whole time, how u guys got that tower way deep in SoS is way beyond me (was watching from a BL). The whole TS chat had a good laugh at that.

It's been hella fun, although I did manage to screw up a /dance off tonight because we were focused.  It appeared that 4-5 flame rams per tower flip was necessary   Great fights out there this evening.  Now only if I could stop that JQ havoc squad from taking our supply camp in the south east that'd be great!  Oh and to all those SoS on SoS BL this evening, Right before I logged off, that line of catty's at SE Tower was a work of art, they were really lined up beautifully!

I spoke to Stei before heading to work and we are happy making SBI miserable (spawn camping,) but we agree this is not how JQ is going to move in to First in Tier.

Another thing that came up is, no matter how we talk down about SBIs tactics, they are here in Tier 1 for a reason.  SBI has earned it. It is also clear that SBI will do anything to ensure JQ finishes out of First, even if this means SBI taking a hit in the process.

Leaving SoS to continue their high average ppt is something I don't agree with and I do discuss this with our Commanders. So don't think I am just here to complain .  I won't be happy until SoS drops out of First, so something has got to change over the next 2.5 weeks.


Finally, great battles everyone!  Lets keep this going through the end of the week!  If you see a Sylvari Thief with PRX tags, during Oceanic times, in EB, that's me.

Another great day of WvW everyone!  Been by far, this week has been the most fun WvWing since the early days when we were all bright eyed noobs.  Mad props to the WvW guilds on ALL sides, Ive always said the true WvWers are the players willing to do the booring job for the sake of their servers success.  To all players on ALL sides that spend hours scouting, manning siege with no assaults, who guarded yaks with no attacks, and who spent their time deep in enemy lines dodging zergs to contest waypoints, you are what makes WvW amazing!
