i know a rare is better than a green at the same lvl, but does no one find this weird?

level 80 green items are a dime a dozen, I dont even bother to post them on the tp anymore.
The low level rare items are not common at all and there is a demand for them, so the price is much greater than the super common 80 greens.

What M1k said, At lv80 you will unfortunately see lots of blue/green loots...which you will end up vendoring.

Or that lvl 60 rare you talking about most probably Lvl 68, which can give ecto.
Also, lvl 80 green or below are very common & easy to craft. -.-

If you actually plan to play (not craft!) your way from 60 to 80, the rare sword is a huge help. That's the reason that a lot of low level rares have a value. They make leveling smoother if you don't plan to rush through the content.

The top, green item, its not the best item for it's level, its garbage, forge fodder, npc etc.
The bottom one is one of the best possible weapons for its level, which happens to be 20 levels under cap. It has a purpose, it has value. Nothing wrong with the prices imo.

i haven no idea what people have against greens seriously, you are ablet to do most of the major content with just greens alone.

You were asking why there is a price difference, or at least that's what I took from your post, I gave you a reason. The rare item is the best you can get for the level, people are willing to pay for that. As opposed to the green's at level 80, they are out classed by rares and exotics. Which means people are not willing to pay top dollar for an item that is far more common. I have nothing against greens myself, skill > gear imo. But gear does eventually come into play.

Because the tiers higher than masterwork are so cheap there really is no reason to keep running around in greens.

Everything is relative to its context. No one has anything against greens, but being "good enough" doesn't justify it to have much value compared to rares and exotics even across different levels. A level 80 masterwork greatsword can be crafted for some pretty common materials. A level 60 rare greatsword is simply harder to find.

Level 60's cant use level 80 weapons thats why.
