Ok ive been seeing way to much of this last few weeks. So many players are just completely vanishing during down state, or when they are about to die, or even running. Not talking Mesmers or Thieves here. What is the point of gearing and leveling up, to come do battle in pvp if you cant take a death? it amazes me people will completely shut down the game, relog in, que up and come back in starting at a BK  all to just save face.

They need to put some kind of timer on this thing, maybe 5 minutes before you can reenter the game, or remove that feature all together. I get a sour taste in my mouth when i keep getting into good fights, and it ends like this. I assuming its the same type of people in real life who cant take a loss in anything and throw tantrums.

They still end up dead. If it's in WvW they will take the armor damage and lose the free waypoint, if they alt-f4 when downed. Also, on a crowded server, they will have to wait to get back in. In sPvP, it doesn't really matter. Your team is now one man ahead.

Who cares if they leave the fight? If someone wants to trade the 1.6s of repair costs into a minute of watching loading screens, let him.

I do understand that rage quiting may piss off some people with high egos as it prevents them from showing off their masculity and strength, but for normal players, it's all the same.

I don't get pissed but I just don't see how alt-f4 could be worth it, money isn't THAT hard to obtain..

You don't get the reward from leavers, they should put a mechanic to prevent this and also a malus to join again. Nothing to do with ego, just another broken mechanic.

It has nothing to do at all with Ego considering people cant even see your player name, etc. It does ruin things like gear drops, and working towards kill titles, daily completes, etc.

This one guild on Devona's Rest did it all the time.  They'd only pick fights they could win if not they'd run and DQ.  I'd head right to their entry keep and wait to gank them again.

I alt-f4'd sPvp yesterday when i got down'd by a greatsword mesmer I didn't see or fight; who was inside kyhlo's clocktower and I was downstairs with 5 feet of concrete floor between us. Went straight through the floor and crit for 1.8k constantly.

I was playing on a warrior, they wouldn't even notice I was gone. :3

I actually didn't alt+f4 but used F12 to go to character select and changed to an alt.

Dailies!  I play all 8 classes and switch it around. I don't even play warrior in tPvP so I try to in sPvP

Gear drops from wvw, or titles? Haha, you are kiddin' right? During all my gw2 time, I have had exactly one exotic drop and it was from a npc guard in wvw. Rare drops I have had several in wvw, almost all from keep lords or supervisors. Maybe one or two are from players.

For the wvw title you need more than 10000 kills. Few invanders leaving here and there isn't going to make that title any harder to achieve at all. Daily complements are fastest to achieve by just attacking mobs.

Hey...  maybe is just a mesmer who tought it was a good Idea to keybind shatters as alt+F1-F2-F3-F4 buttons.XD

Maybe that mesmer is now in the official forums, complaining that when he uses Distortion, his client always crashes.XD

Hey... I'm actually using Alt + 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 for my healing / utility skills. I wanted to use the 4rth toolbelt skill while holding down Alt because I was running with the Medic Kit...

not really, I hate it when people alt f4 when a fight is going sour, the reason being that I love small fights, for me it's the most fun part of WvW, if my opponent alt f4's during one, then he's cheated me of what I'm playing for, anything at all other than alt f4'ing out of a fight would be better, running away and bringing back 10 people to pound me into the ground is completely fine too, anything to get a battle, but rage quitting during one is just lame

if he alt f4's when down, eh whatever don't care, I don't need the loot and get no satisfaction from finishes anyway, the fight's already over, but during one is totally stupid, however it is really annoying when a thief alt f4's while down, and leaves me standing there auto attacking like an idiot >_>
