Just went into some of the underwater areas on the new map and its swarming with bots, with teleport hacks.

There spam killing the barracuda's and any sea life on the new map.

Saw atleast 10-20 botters in different areas on deso server. All using teleport hacks , different professions, regular normal names and all underwater out of sight. lol

I wouldn't be surprised, that map is probably somewhat dead. Botters are most likely to go unnoticed as there is no point in people to venture there. No map completion and karkas can be a pain. People only go for the rich ori node.

Bots using teleport hacks can be found throughout the game, even in the starter areas. Typically they pop through a series of resource nodes and/or farm mobs in places like caves and such.

They teleport so quickly that it's usually not possible to right-click and report them fast enough.

Rather demoralizing, frankly, and I hope they put a stop to it soon.

They steal accounts so it won't cost them anything at all.

This isn't just some bored people wanting stuff farmed while they are logged off, this is business.

There's more to it than that even.
Gold sellers steal accounts, bot, hack, generally screw up the economy, and sell their in game currency to fools before they get caught and banned.
These are obviously unsavory types.  And these unsavory types now have the credit card info of the fools that actually use their "services."
Is that the type of person that you want to give your credit card info to?

It absolutely amazes me that people are so naive that these types of "businesses" are even worth starting up.

Even tho i hate gold sellers/botters I do enjoy them lowering the prices on items such as t6mats etc. Otherwise the base price of most these things is just too high.
But that's the life of a mmo. Bots come, get banned, come with new botting techniques, get banned again and keep coming back as long as there are fools giving away their accounts to these "legit" gold selling and cheat offering websites.

The economy was screwed up as soon as Anet put the precursor for legendary weapons as a drop and T6 mats aswell

I honestly haven't even explored the zone other than on one character to get the 200 karka kills for the monthly last month, but I will say that at ice floe in frostgorge there is a group teleporting around killing the icebrood colossus there.  went to try my hand at a few corrupted lodestones (got none) and barely got hits in on them before these 5 bots had them dead.

They also use stolen credit card info they buy off the black market or harvest the info themselfs.

If you see botters, just report them to ANet and leave it at that. There is no need to post on the forums telling everyone where they are.
