TC v CD v FA:

So far the different coverage windows of the servers is making this very interesting, with TC having the advantage in NA Prime but being outnumbered during NA daytime. I must be honest, this is a matchup I've been dreading because both FA and CD have such strong Oceanic presence (when they mobilise it at least, FA's seems to be more sporadic than CD's) and so I knew I was going to be facing a lot of pain in that timeslot and so far it's been every bit as bad as I feared. Yesterday, in particular, I was very impressed with CD's efforts in EB as they spent hours making my life hell as I tried to keep hold of Stonemist (and ultimately failed, due to the combination of TC running out of bodies and us having been stripped of supplies and resources systematically for the previous 4+ hours.)
The only thing that is a shame so far is that coverage seems to be determining so much - both our victories and our defeats seem to come down to numbers more often than tactical genius if I'm completely honest.

I know our Oceanic is beast, so hopefully it makes this battle close!

Today was awesome in EB (during the Oceanic slot.) Somehow we (TC) managed to cling on to everything important but we had to kill about 20 golems (between 2 batches) and you had us very worried more than once. I was really surprised at how sparse FA's Oceanics were, though - they've given us a lot of trouble in previous weeks but today are we flipped their keep they seemed to basically vanish (leaving CD to roll through and take their whole third while TC bunkered down and tried to weather the storm.) I have a lot of respect for CD now, it's just a shame your low coverage in other time slots means your oceanic players don't get the score they deserve.

FA had control of SM while a pitched battle in the southern entrance to the Guild Lord's room was taking place between CD and FA; TC came in, bamboozled half our forces and then moved onto the NW entrance to the Inner Sanctum. CD came back and the battle was fierce inside, all three teams trying to cap until CD finally held the point long enough to get SM. I don't remember how long after that, maybe an hour or so, some TC built Catapults on the southern outer wall and brought a force into SM; I didn't get there till the force had moved onto the inner gate and beyond. The Catapults were destroyed and we were just beginning to the rebuild the outer wall. SM had no supply, something our PUGs love to do, but our ability to keep our supply camps was also being compromised by TC and the odd FA push, so it was a bad situation at SM.
I was running to Danelon for supply when I saw Hylek was up and someone called for help to take it. I helped with the frogs and just as we were completing it, I saw two, no three, no five, perhaps ten Alpha Siege Golems and two Omega Golems phase in and out on my screen with a sizable accompanying force of TC strolling through the northern route of Hylek on their merry way to SM. The battle obviously didn't take that long; we were only maybe successful at keeping one or two of the Alpha Golems from getting to SM, but I was very impressed with TC's organizational ability that night. The Catapult push, as successful as it was, obviously was only meant to weaken our defenses and test our numbers. CD was playing a little under-manned that night it seemed, especially after we took SM; our EB presence isn't what it used to be in NA prime. But I still applaud CD's commanders and the players who stick to their guns even when all hope is lost. TC is a worthy opponent.

Agreed, one thing I will always remember about TC is their organization. Last time I got to fight them on CD BL it was a bloodbath and we were constantly battling the continuity of their forces, never getting a break. Even when we tried to back door TC BL and literally no TC were on the map, 15 minutes later there'd be a commander and 30 TC to NOM NOM NOM our poor little supply group.

Looking pretty balanced, and there's damn good fights on all sides.
But TC still holds the cake for having the most impossible-to-take towers.
We've just given up. Their response time is incredible, and their attention to defensive-siege placement is impeccable. I think it's been over a week since we've even bothered to try and take one of their towers.
Even while we had stonemist, the whole prospect just seemed insane.
Edit:
Shameful video promotion:
This video wasn't really intended for this particular forum (so obviously a little biased), but on the other hand all of the footage for it was taken the opening night that Crystal Desert joined our tier. So the fights/footage were really easy to come by that night. Welcome to the tier CD!

It really got boring. Every morning we'd wake up and every tower, on every map was held by Blackgate.
We'd have to wait until halfway through the day for the other servers to get their towers back just so we'd have something to do.
But here's hoping that's no longer the case. When I was playing I think Blackgate was a tier 4 or 5 server... so that kind of opposition was expected for a huge influx of players like that. And I think they've been holding pretty steady in that tier for some time, so there should be some good fights to be had.
If not, we'll see you back here in Tier 3 when IoJ gets bumped down to tier 4

Anyway we're look forward for a change next week so keep it up TC. Beware that IoJ always gather a server wide push on Wednesday/Thursday so nothing can be certain until then! TC u better start a server wide push mid week for total domination to take lots of points possible to guarantee the spot.

FA had them 3 weeks ago or so, the server just seemed to lose motivation/attendance in that time slot quite quickly after we worked out how to stop their golem zergs in our quiet hours with half their number of players (defence is a lot easier than attack) and after a number of our key players and commanders started getting up and playing at crazy hours to stop their dominance. I don't know if FA has the players still but they aren't WvWing, if they have transfered servers or if they have quit the game entirely but FA used to have the ability to get me very scared in that window....

GFs to everyone who was at the TC Borderland's Shadaran Hills yesterday (Around 5PM PST).
We (GODS and RET) mustered a bunch of people to take the keep before TC prime. The lord's room was assaulted 3 times, the inner and outer gates rebuilt--before the final push wiped it out two hours later.
PINK has a scary crew....
Every time they came in, the doors were down in minutes...
TC deserves Tier 2.

Thanks. We've put quite a lot of theorycrafting and practice into optimising our Blitzes. I'm quite proud of having flipped fully upgraded Garrison's during oceanic prime with less than 15 people (when CD outnumber us across all maps at least 2:1 in that time slot.)

2 more days left, probably going to be even.
Crystal Desert has some nice force at night time, and FA have the morning and noon. Gather up your forces and get ready!
/bow, /salute to IoJ.
