Hello fellow GW2/GW2Guru people.

I have read around countless of posts from some months back of people having problems with this level 70 personal story mission. I still didn't find anyone with the exact same problem as me (may be just me overlooking something) but when I go to Fort Trinity in the Straits of Devastation i get to a locked gate with an Asura Gate behind.

Interacting with the gate gives me a "Talk to the Guard" message, but when I talk to the guard he/she says the gate is not ready jet (fixing it or something). So I never get to enter the instance where the quest says I'm supposed to meet with Trahearne.

Have tried to enter from two sides, north of Lion's Arch and east of Lion's Arch, both places I meet a closed gate around the Asura Gate and a guard saying the AG is not ready for use jet.

Every mission walkthrough starts with what happens after I've talked to Trahearne so if I'm doing something wrong or something is bugged I don't know. Appreciate any help.

Character: Charr Necromancer
Level: 78
Order: Order of Whispers
Mood: Frustrated

The asura gates have nothing to do with starting the story mission. The northern entrace of Fort Trinity has the green starburst you just walk into.

Each Order has an asura gate to Fort Trinity. Your map may be placing the green starburst on them but that's not what you do. Physically go to Fort Trinity yourself and the green starburst will be there waiting for you.

On the minimap the green starburst is actually on the gate, but I will look for it outside the walls. Thanks

Wait, are you saying your green burst on a gate in Lion's Arch? 0.0

I never noticed that... I just zoomed out of the world map to see where the star actually is in Strait of Devastation, and go there straight using waypoint. Like the other said, it's just outside the northern gate of Fort Trinity.

Yea it shows you the green starburst on the gate because TECHNICALLY the gate does take you to Fort Trinity, but you can't use the gate until after you complete the battle of fort trinity. It's understandable why people get confused by it. Just gotta travel to Straits of Devestation through running/waypoints yourself.

I think you may be referring to the green spiral instead, which is an indicator of which exit out of your current zone you should be taking as the most efficient route to your destination (the green star or burst).

There does seem to be a minor issue there because although the Vigil gate in the Gendarran north-east is technically the shortest way to Trinity from Lion's Arch, only Vigil members can use it (unlocked after the Battle of Fort Trinity is completed).

But I do not know which, between the indicator showing for non-Vigil members or the Order restriction itself, is the actual bug.

Actually anyone can use either orders gate after they have done this mission, and nobody can use them before it.

This issue crops up a few times in the PS. The game will direct you to the closest route to the next start and in the case of gates points to said gate even when they are not yet accessible. For some reason unless you are in the actual zone the gate always shows as the fastest way, even if you are at the portal into the zone in the nearest other zone.

Just to to straits and follow the point from there.

Then I must have missed something, because I can only use my Priory gate.
The other two gates are perpetually unavailable to me.

My personal story is in Orr now, the last one I did being to escort some tanks somewhere.
Or was the Battle for Trinity I did... not it?

...

You can use any from Fort Trinity, however if you approach any of the order gates by yourself, then you can only gain access to the one order where you are a member. I have several characters before Zhaitan and one who even killed it, and this restriction is applied to all of them. (they are all from different orders)
