ever since I got GW2 it has ran fine, no lag at all. Now, just about 3 hours ago, I am having very serious lag problems. could it be my PC being on 24-7? just wondering what I can do to fix this sudden lag.

Find the source of the problem. If your computer is opened 24-7 and the room you're on is a little hot, it might occurred that one of your pc hardware overheated. But it can also be a multitude of other problems.

I think it was actually the game itself. When I logged back on, the Trading post is greyed out and I can't click "buy"

Well, if it's a problem because your computer is on 24/7 (which I don't recommend, btw), simply rebooting (turning the computer off and back on) should fix it.

If rebooting doesn't fix it, it could be almost anything, but most likely network problems between you and ANet, and it's likely to clear up on it's own.
