When are you going to fix the Kegmaster title, ANet? Ever?
Snowball tournaments were a traditional part of guild wars wintersday celebrations, I'm glad to see them returning. They were always quite different, to me, from keg brawl.....for one my character wasn't stumbling about shouting drunken solliloquays and death threats to inanimate objects in snowball fights (until someone spiked the eggnog that is!). Hopefully there'll be a shiny new title to go along with it. Dwayna's little helper? I'm crossing my fingers for a mini owl griffon with a big red xmas bow, or maybe a traditional ice elemental in a santa hat?
It's gotta be hard for ANet working out the bugs etc for big events like this. Patience, my young progeny, all good aetheric transmutopical thermoribonucleic quadratic quadricities come to those who wait!

I have to say that this:

is pretty darn sweet!
I kind of wish that A.net would have the decency to get the AI kids some shoes instead of toys though:

Why
At least with BLC you can farm the keys and never spend a penny on gems, is it really better they add a new chest that has the same rare chance to drop skins. Also they might as well remove BLC out of the system, if they are never going to give people a reason to open them ever again because a few people complained during halloween.
If the skins they add are going to be rare, its not going to matter which chest they come out of and people will complain either way.

More than just a few complained during the Halloween event, Rare Items shouldn't be part of the events like anet is doing them as the holiday events should be about the holiday and holiday items should be easy to get for everyone.

Who said anything about snowball tournaments in GW2?
Keg Brawl is extraordinarily similar to Snowball. Both are team games where players are meant to retrieve objects that spawn randomly around the arena (less randomly so in KB) by picking them up and carrying to their keeper (or if you're not bad at KB, throwing them to your keeper). Each player has methods of harassing enemies and disarming other carriers. The winner is whoever can reach the target number first.
And I'm not even talking about a bug that's in the new content that I've not even seen yet. I'm talking about a bug that's been in the game since release, and possibly even before then. Given their "we have to put minigames on the backburner" attitude, it seems they've chosen to not address this bug, if they're really even aware that it exists. What's more perplexing to me is that they've fixed a bug like this before, back when they fixed the "Emissary of the Mad King" title when players weren't correctly being credited for certain progress. Yet, they've not taken the opportunity to fix other titles that work in the same fashion, namely Kegmaster.

That's a different view on the matter, wanting the skins to be free and for everyone is one thing. But wanting a new chest type that may contain rare skins that forces you to buy it is another, At least with BLC you can save or farm keys. A new chest type would force you into buying it.

Because these seasonal chests don't require both a chest and key as well as are guaranteed to only drop seasonal items.

Hopefully they won't be using BL chests for seasonal items ever again. With the consortium chests for lost shores I'm pretty sure we'll be seeing more of that type of consumable.

Now if only they would drop more often. I never even got one of those chests >.<

I agree with you. I really wish they'd just take a hint from rift and just allow us to buy special stuff with holiday tokens. It wouldn't be free, but at least I got to choose what I wanted and work towards it. Instead of just wishing and hoping...and praying

Good. Anet needs to quit trying to be cute and cryptic about their events. That was one of the biggest flubs with the Halloween event.
With Wintersday it looks like they wised up on that front, and also applied some common sense to the event schedule.
We'll see if they do better with the bugged/broken event content in a few days.

Give this man a medal. If they spoiled it for you, too bad. It's your fault for looking through the entire page. This lets me plan my weekend accordingly, well done ANet! It seems to me like they're learning from their mistakes.

The BLC are far from rare or expensive if you buy them off the auction house, so you buy keys or buy a seasonal chest. I don't see the difference, and if they add crafting mats into the chests instead of being able to farm them in game. Like you could with the halloween candy corn, and bags. To me seems far worse, in the long run as it would force people to spend gems in order to get anything.
I get this feeling that people think if its a seasonal chest, that each one is going to have some rare skin in it. If they are going to make rare skins, its not going to matter much which chest they come out of. Except you can get keys in game, instead of being forced to buy a seasonal chest.

This is going te be good. Though I always have the feeling that I will miss out on something with every one time event? How about the people who can't play the game at those dates??
It lasts pretty long and everything will be available for replay if you missed it. If you can't play for the entire 2-3 week duration then it's not really ANet's fault.

My sister picked the worst weekend to get married. Across the other side of the country no less.
At least I can play catch-ups when I get home

Or... take your laptop along to the wedding and play during the ceremony...?
Yeah, maybe not.

Has anyone considered the possiblities of pets north of kryta? further into tyria? its unexplored and (as far as we know) uninhabited.Surely there's a wealth of monkey like fluffball creatures with six arms, two tails, blue striped dark fur and the ability to multiply into fuzzy hordes of adorable, cuddly, explosive death? We could call them Muwams. mini muwams would be palm sized.
Or maybe elephant-like animals, tigers, rainbow phoenices.
