I made a build based on long fights, annoying the hell out of your opponents, and winning by attrition.

This build was meant to go the distance, to make 1 v 3ing easiest, or to just toy with your opponent indefinitely.  There is a ton of health regen, even with no healing gear, and lots of re-stealthing.  Damage output is mediocre, but with the right weapon combination, there's a lot of utility.

It focuses on high iniative regen, and high survivability.  The key traits are in shadow arts:
I take Shadow's Embrace (remove condiiton)   Patience, (more initiative ), Shadow's Rejuvenation (regenerate while in stealth).

I also take Quick Recovery in Acrobatics (extra 2 init per 10 secs).

The rest i put in power for damage.

Shadow's Refuge:  with Shadow's Rejuvenation, this skill will heal you back to nearly full.  Each second while in stealth, with no healing gear, I heal for about 335 per second.  with 14 seconds of stealth from Refuge, plus the healing from REfuge itself, that's alot of health!

Shadowstep, (for WvW),  i never leave without this skill.  There's no other way out when you're being zerged, and immobilized or stunned, or knocked  down.

I am still experimenting, but i'm using Sword/Dagger.  Since the damage on this build isn't much, I focused on utility more.  S/D  has lots of dazes, immobilizations, and mobility.

For this style, i recommend higher toughness/vit, a more balanced ratio of stats, no glass cannoning.

This is probably the hardest to kill spec of all classes i've tried/ encountered.  Conditions don't work as restealthing removes them, constantly healing over and over, constantly restealthing to avoid getting hit...  Lots of ways to escape and recover.

Not entirely useless either.  The damage from sword is alright, and you can assist teammates with lots of dazes and immobs, getting enemies killed.

i've also 3v 1d regularly with this build.  People get so confident, thinking I don't do much burst damage so i'm not scary.  But then 2-3 mins in, i'm still at full health, and they're all withering.

Hope you guys try it out.

added link.

this build is holding up really strong so far, both in spvp and wvw.
the mobility and healing is incredible.

i'm still experimenting with gear and some slot choices, and dont some traits too.

So you just stealth, hit one of them with Tactical Strike, maybe a couple hits of sword auto attack (hitting all of them), stealth and repeat?

there's alot you can do here.  yes you can do as you said, play it standard, combining shadowsteps and CnD with a rhythm.
you can go for a 'burst'  mug/venom,  1 1, cnd, 1, 1 1 1.

if you're falling behind, you can recover via CnD over and over.  Each CnD will heal for about 1.5k

if situation calls for it, i switch to shortbow, and know that i can get nearly a full heal with shadow refuge.

i've been running with high damage gear, and despite lacking heavy offense traits, the damage output isnt so bad.

Is this WvW or sPvP build?  Honestly if you are posting a WvW build you should post the gear you recommend.  It doesn't take a genius to go grab some P/V/T gear from AC and cleric and shaman trinkets to last forever.  Really this build lasts because of the traits you took in shadow arts not really an other reason.

Since stealth is a reason why this works it would be better to take blinding powder, and shadow refuge,  and whatever else.  Bask venom?

Really need more work its an experimental thing as you say but needs more clarity honestly is it WvW or sPvP?  Which weapon set you recommend cause you know that makes a big difference.

i try not to get too into details , because peopel have different playstyles. Some may want more dmg based gear, others survivability.  What i'm trying to open are possibilities on builds. Personally, i always stick with gear that's precision/% crit based.  I do not like the playstyle of conditions or high toughness/vit, as my survivability relies on me, the player outwitting or avoiding getting hit.  Not everyone has good reflexes, so they may have to choose different gear.  There's a variety of reasons not to set this in stone.

with the new talent change to fleet shadow, you could skip signet of shadows.  but i never leave home in spvp or wvw without shadowstep. there is no way out of sticky situations without it.

for elite, i left it open too, just defaulted to bask.

I guess i did forget to say it, i've tested this build heavily in spvp and wvw, it holds up very strong in both.  It is particularly powerful against siege weapons in wvw, as you can keep hitting their siege over and over by restealthign.
