This is just me voicing my opinion after reading so many posts about people leaving and lower player number etc. To be honest i really love Guild Wars 2, I'm ex GW1 and the way GW2 plays is perfect for me, I played all Beta's and was on 24/7 for the 1st few months. I dropped back to a few hours a day with odd days i'm to busy to get on. I enjoy how each class plays and have never been the sort of gamer to rush to end game content. The fact you can enjoy any area on any level toon is great and I'll be leveling my toons until all 7 are level 80. I can see the major content that would be in the works being an ex gw1'r and knowing how much more there is to tyria so in saying that. I'm not stressing over lack of content and i'm just taking the time to enjoy it. I have a level 80 guard, 30 warrior, 30 elementalist, 12 theif, 5 ranger, 3 engineer and a level 2 necro. I'm going to enjoy leveling away on these despite those who crave end game leaving i'll be here long term and loving it, keep up the epic work Anet. I'm a player indefinate! :)

Ps' the multi guild option SUX!!!! we need gw1 style guilding!!!!

100% agreed. Although I only have a lvl 80, 35 12, 9, 5, 4 I also really enjoy the game. (Most of my time has been spent on my journey to achieve Twilight, so I've done a lot of gw2 "endgame") Multi guild system does SUCK. gw1 style would've been much better. Get rid of MF and where the hell is gvg? sadface

Oh, i love gw2 too, a lot. I was a great player of gw1 too. On both, i got the best i can, 2 obsidian black dye armor on gw1 , all unique weapons, hom etc , arah fullset +ascended crap on gw2, dungeon master, still i have fun playing it when i'm in the mood to log, the game is awesome.

Thats great to hear. Thats the sort of feedback i was wanting for this thread because it seems only the complainers post most of the time. I mean theres 1 elder dragon in this game so far and we all know its one of many. oh and I actually like magic find i think lol, IMO this game will be crazy cool in a few years and for now its just finding its feet. People who love gear treadmills will always love that stuff. Legendarys are kind of like that but thats opinion i guess.

Ps the numbers seem to be fine on Ehmry Bay server. I would love to find out actual player numbers though

I wonder how long it will take before the whiners transform this into a hate thread.

Well, on topic, I agree, I love this game. This is my first MMO and I think I made a good choice, cant wait to see what happens in the future of this game.

I like this game, AND I like multi-guild! Because guilds in GW2 are meant to be for social hubs and occasional guild event/gatherings! (Apart for WvW guilds...they need active representative players lol). In this game you can solo pretty much anything in PvE except for dungeons (who am I kidding, some people might have attempted and succeeded this already..). However you can do dungeons easily with pug - they are not so difficult. Friends in many places is the way to go!!

I'm for multi guild but only account based, not char. Meaning one char per guild, but not one char across many guilds.

Good for you OP!

I have to agree with you that multiguild system is not working for me, I prefer to focus my commitment on just one guild only.

Hey good to see this type of thread, I agree way too much negative stuff. I also love GW2, 2 80s, 2 around 50 and 2 under 25 and love them all. Although I do admit my mage is my baby:).

Oh how I envy you. I want to like this game sooo much. I tried really hard, but I simply can´t, which makes me sad -.-
Unfortunately I´m not the only one. My guild had over 60 active members at release. Right now only two of them are left...
They all say the same reasons:
-Pointless WvWvW
-Dungeonbosses are only circlerunning and rezzing
and the number1-reason: no trinity.

The social aspect of this game is a big plus for me. I couldn't really imagine playing this game entirely alone.

GW1's alliances were amazing.
But for pretty much everything else, I prefer the GW2 system.

I'm enjoying the game too :D

It's far from perfect of course, there are many things ANet can do to make it better, but its core appeals to me a lot. I generally dislike "traditional" MMOs but this game puts a nice twist on the traditional formula. And it's easy to just jump in and have some fun, and no sub fee actually is what maks me want to log in and play - I feel a "pressure" to play and get my moneys worth in sub games which tends to put me off (granted this is just a personal quirk of mine).

My RL buddy got the game as well, and we're both having a blast playing together, even his GF is considering the game though I don't really think she'll actually get it but still. I've already helped her pick her class just in case :P

All in all I'm very happy with this game (though I can fully understand why many people are not), and I really hope to see it grow - or at least carve out its own niche and continue steadily for years to come.

GW2 has met all my expectations and more.....This game is literally like a gift to play.... I log in when I can....yet I don't feel like I'm playing catch up. My Main goal is fulfilled...100% world completion..... I've dabbled in WvW and I love it... I swore I would not make alts...now I have 5 :)

This is the best MMO I've played....and I've tried alot....Long live Guildwars 2!!

Saying they are sad there's no trinity is like saying I'm sad there's no strawberries in my chocolate cake. I knew in advance that there won't be any and I bought it anyway.

If they wanted a trinity they had no business playing GW2 in the first place.

I also enjoy playing GW2 alot, every single day since release.
Have played GW1, and I some times miss the incredible amount of different skills we had there.....
But the dodging, jumping and traits in GW2 more then compensate for this loss

At the moment I have the following characters: Elementalist (80), Ranger (80), Mesmer (80), Guardian (35), Necro (17), Engineer (5), warrior (5).

I enjoy playing them all, going to get them all to 80 and then decide on which one to make my main and go for the 100% map completion.  So far I've spend the most time playing  my elementalist (WvW & dungeons) but after a while she tends to get boring. Can't wait for my Necro and Guardian to get to 80 and unleash their true powers......  :D

I love it too. I must say some of my expectations for gw2 haven't been met (city mini games, faster bug fixing, good open-world bosses ...) but the core is exactly as expected. I have 3 lvl 80s & played 3 characters to lvl 30.

Everything I hate in other mmo's is gone:
  • no more heavy grind for the best gear, and the second-best (which is also very good) is very easy to get.
  • no more having to wait to 80 for a great pvp experience
  • relatively fast leveling to 80
  • no subscription fee
  • no more being stuck with the standard look of gear, transmutation stones & dyes fix that.
  • no more visiting quest-givers, just participate when you see something happen.
  • no more being dependent on a tank & healer for a great dungeon experience.
I love the dungeons & loved figuring out what to do in them; i love the fractals & how difficult it gets; i love how WvW lasts a week; i love dodging; i love the jumping puzzles; i love the downscaling; i love this game.

Agreed, GW2 manages to make me feel I want to log in and just potter about, even if I don't really have a set goal, something that other games lost for me. I love the art, music, atmosphere and the community is pretty great too most of the time tbh. The best thing is that I can log on, do some events and run into people and quite often have a hilarious conversation with them before going our way again. Reminds me of when I started playing WoW back in vanilla STV and you could make a pug group and spam all the quest with them, having fun along the way. Oh and the shared loot/nodes ofc, I never want to go back to mmos with mob and node ninjaring.

everytime someone randomly posts "oh man, i LOVE this game" in guild chat, it brings a knowing smile to my face. its about every 30 min ^^

its a nearly perfect game (for me and most of my guild) atm. and it can only get better.

i took the opposite approach, i waited two months after launch before buying the game.  and at first there are a lot of things that was turning me off to GW2 mainly with the absence of Trinity, but the more i play GW2 the more its grown on me and the more ive warmed up to it.

players flocking to a Dynamic Event, the synergy between my traits and skills, the team work and satisfaction i receive when running a dungeon, the beauty of the world, i mean, the list goes on.  the more i play gw2, the more i like it.

and usually, its the other way around. .. .

Thats the point. Everybody really believed ArenaNet when they said their system will be actually better. Unfortunately without Trinity the whole PvE comes down to zerging and circlerunning/rezzing. and thats no fun at all.

I love it too. Best part for me is that I can take breaks to play other games and not be wasting part of a sub fee. I didn't have that feeling playing another MMO the past 7ish years and missed out on a lot of games :( But not anymore!

As such I am going to close this. Respond to posts in a thread in that thread.
