[Neo Nugget]

Is your mind looking for a creative outlet? Do you punch your screenshot key more often than you kill your enemies? Are prizes your thing? Great! Then you're definitely going to want to participate in this screenshot contest!

A single entry consists of a series of screenshots gathered from Guild Wars 2 and placed together in order to create a story or something similar. Think of it as a comic strip of sorts, though it doesn't have to been exactly like one you'd find in the newspaper or comic book. Keep in mind that a good deal of the submission is up to you, creatively. You can make a poem about Wintersday, a story about your asura's first time in The Grove, or something a little less traditional. All you have to do is remember a few simple guidelines.

• Screenshots must be taken from Guild Wars 2. No concept art, etc.
  
• You are allowed to build on screenshots (text, filters).
  
• A single submission must have a minimum of two panels, and a maximum of 10.
  
• Be creative!

The deadline for this contest is 11:59 PM PST on Friday, December 14th, 2012.

Prizes
In order to win the first place prize, you simply need to have the most favorable entry. Beyond the single winner of the first place prize, we will also pick three honorable mentions. You can find the prize list below. Once the winners have been chosen, we will place *every* entry in a public gallery for everyone to enjoy once the contest has passed.

Submitting an Entry
All you have to do is post your contest submission in this thread. We will announce the winner and honorable mentions publicly once they have been chosen, then I will contact the appropriate members for prize distribution details.

You are eligible to win the gem card as long as you have a North American account. I wish we were able to include everybody there, but it unfortunately looks like that's how it has to be.

I really don't want that to dissuade anybody from participating though! You'll still be able to get a user title out of it, and entries will be on display in a fancy little gallery as well ^^

By the way, it should be important to know if screenshots can be modified (ranging from cropping to adding text and even applying filters etc.)

Yep, you are allowed to build on existing screenshots. What you can't do is cut an asura from a screenshot and paste it into a real life picture.

You can take a screenshot of a cutscene to use in your entry, but you can't actually have a moving picture.

Hope you guys like it! I thought it was pretty funny. Serves the kid right for making me listen to them everywhere I walk in Divinity's Reach.

This actually took forever to make, simply because of the last panel. I made it myself with no help whatsoever, so I had to angle my camera in front of that kid while he was moving in zigzags and crap All the while I had to be moving forward (In retrospect, using auto run may have greatly assisted me haha.)

I'm unsure if any of the other entries will use NPCs, but boy is it difficult when they are running around and spazzing out like... Well... Little kids.

You can create more than one, but if you do you have to label the one you want to be judged for the prizes. The others will be displayed in the gallery afterwards.

The codes are region locked, and there are other contest restrictions on the Curse level that prevent it reaching regions outside NA :/ Sorry!

What are they being judged on by the way? Time put in? Quality? Size? Humor?
It seems like it would be very hard to judge between the massive differences in comics here, from the two panel ones to the 9 panel ones. From the hilarious ones to the ones that are merely informational.

Seems like apples and oranges to me...

The entries will be judged based on overall quality. I didn't want to give a rubric purely because I believe that would have limited the creativity and variety of the entries. Comedies will not have any edge over any other type, and just because you have nine panels doesn't give you the edge over somebody that entered with three.

Think of it as somebody giving you a pile of objects and the only instructions are "Impress me".
