This is the last time i bought gems. So i drop 20 euro and i can end up with now pets at all. Seriouslly Anet this will not increase spending in the store this will put people off.

Would have dropped 1200 gems for all pets np but now well screw them

You mean just like how it would be after Halloween? And Lost Shores?

People said the same thing back then, and yet they are still buying them :)

Not liking the whole gambling in the gem store again....

They should of given us another way to get holiday mini's, is just greedy, casino gambling with halloween skins and now gambling with christmas mini pets in the gem store.

Asking players to gamble like a casnio grab bag for christmas mini pets at christmas time when money is tight is just a scummy way for anet to make money.

They could of just sold the pets out right and players would of bought them.

Very scummy Anet.

Yeah some people do but i wont if i want to gamble i go 2 a real casino.
And with halloween you could buy the minipets in the store as a pack so they did it right 1 time.
Also so far as i could see quickly this morning the pets are account bound so that means you can only gamble to get them no tp option. I guess the people that were saying a while back, when they hired some girl or something for the shop that things will get really bad where right after all.

So what's the best item(s) to spend the socks, hats and sweaters on?

Also anyone else kind of bugged that the skritt don't give exp?

Also anyone notice anything different form the double wrapped gifts that contain 10 skritt in total?  I think one ended up giving 3 gifts in total but another only yielded one.

Bought the new holiday outfit since I just can't stand the sylvari town cloths. Oh man best 700 gems I spent. Absolutely beautiful outfit with some of the coolest costume brawl powers, including a cute nutcracker type golem.

If Anet had been truthful pior to release and mentioned that jumping puzzles, especially ones with kiddie themes, would be a major focus of all future 'new' content, I would have never given them my $60.

Yes now it can be said, the primary achievement of GW2 is the replacement of good MMO content with cheesy jumping puzzles.

What an utter waste.

Couldn't be more disappointed than this, bought 10 chests without a single mini. Anet isn't different from other mmo companies, the gambling chest did it for me. Not giving them another euro, they don't deserve it.

Uncommon: One of three new festive miniatures; a snowman, a festive golem, or the toymaker's Infinirarium.......Right.

They fixed some things with this patch, I'll give them that, but on the other hand the gambling chest is a total money bait. I may not be getting the minis but they lost something greater, a customer. Those 55 euros were the last.

PS @ the chest gamble: They've done it once, they'll do it twice.

No one force you to do them. For my part, I like the change from dongeons or pvp.
All your previous posts/comments are pessimistic, I suggest you find another game and stop crying over these forums, your quality of life might get better eventualy (unless you btch and moan at everything life throws at you).

Honestly, the jumping puzzle is completely easy, already did it twice. It was fun, though. You don't get that feeling of completing something hard, like the halloween one, but it was still fun for me.

In fact, there is one single jumping puzzle and as it has been said no one is forced to do it.

I think, it might be the best idea to just sell them on the TP. If you want a weapon skin it's cheaper to sell your socks, hats and sweaters and buy the skin. For the other Items I haven't done the math.

Anyone know what the Giver's Insignia let you craft?  Is it a standard skin, but with different stats?
According to this post from the official forum it can come from the Tixx instance and:
They have small chance to come out of gift boxes. The primary usage will be revealed with the new content. Again, you should be able to get plenty without relying on drops or the trading post. They do have a secondary use, and that’s what these drops are for.
EDIT: Also, gift boxes come from playing activities, opening mysterious gifts in the open world, and random world drops.
It's an insignia as any other one - with the difference that it has HEALING POWER, TOUGHNESS and +1% Boon Duration

--

It's easily the best event so far, imho. Won't unnecessarily fawn over it right now, but the jumping puzzle, the snowball mayhem and the bell choir ensemble are incredibly fun to do. Had a blast doing them today already for quite some hours.

The only negative thing so far that caught my attention, was the fact that you get 3 currencies - what for? The costs for each differ from another for no obvious reason and you can't exchange them with one another to get your stuff in a reasonable amount of time - nah, you're stuck to collect all 3 of them for some odd reason.

Absolutely love the SLINGSHOT. Which is a precedence case for a weapon (shortbow) to get a skin of a completely new weapon (slingshot) and still be fully functionable, new animations and all -  for me, that's pretty awesome! ;)

120 Gifts opened so far, purely got crap but whatever. Still enjoyable so far.

Is Christmas now a Kiddie Theme? Oh boy. You sure need a hug - come let me... *ninja hugs* It's all right, big boy.

People who complain about a GAMBLE being a GAMBLE well deserve to have gotten rid of their money btw. Numbnuts ;)

PS.: I am still a bit astonished that the Gem->Gold value isn't increasing really. You'd people would buy gems right now.

Enjoying it very much so far.  Considering the toymaker's dungeon isn't even here yet I think it's a little too soon to complain about what is and is not available.

I do wish the minis were tradable.  I got 8 from the 30 mystery gifts i bought and, even after making my quaggan, still have 2 i don't want.  So i wish I could give them away.

Im also hoping there will be candy cane torches and toy horns at some point - but if not, no big deal.

I really really like the town clothes and the weapons skins from the store - for those who haven't tried them, they have a wintery glow and leave snowflakes behind you when in use.

And Anet seemes to have learned from Halloween - the toy skins are permanent and fairly easy to get - the slingshot is a blast.

So far - really nice job!

The skins are right there for money - but I guess now that the pets are for gamble, the skins aren't interesting any more huh? :/

Which is unfortunate, because I generally agree with your post otherwise.

So, maybe someone can give me some insight. I'm getting kicked almost every single time I try the jumping puzzle. Sometimes before I'm able to get to the 3rd snowflake, sometimes halfway through the entire puzzle. I don't understand, I don't fall... I just, get kicked back to the starting area. I have a stable connection at the moment and my client is running at 80-85 FPS while in the puzzle. I will load the puzzle faster than everyone else and they take several seconds to appear. I thought perhaps, maybe I needed to set a limit on my FPS - so I did so, setting a limit of 60 FPS which is more 'standard'. Still no luck. It's happening almost every single time, 95% or so. Also, yes I have restarted my client.

So you actually get transferred to the starting area of the puzzle and watch the snow flakes appear before you start? Or are they THERE already when you start running?

The thing is, if you are too slow in the puzzle - the snow flakes simply melt behind you and you'll fall - you'll see yourself fall even and then get transferred to the lobby for the next run to begin.

So if you're not seeing the melting funny business going on but just get a loading screen while you were still jumping to that 4th snow flake - there's definitely an issue unrelated to the puzzles difficulty.

Actually this is the 2nd time they have had lottery type casino gambling in the gem store except last time you could atleast for a crazy amount of gold buy the stuff on TP, this time they completely locked out the ability to do that...seems there going to keep using this business model and sucker people into wasting there money.

Yeah, I get to the starting area of the puzzle (whatever path it puts me on), watch everyone else spawn, then watch the snowflakes appear. I start jumping, sometimes I will just get to the second snowflake and other times I will get halfway through or so. Either way, suddenly a loading screen will appear and I get taken back to the 'waiting zone'. No falling, nothing. Just kicks me and takes me back.

Why does everything lately have to be a 5 man instance. I liked the Holloweeen instance much better.  This whole game was going to be things happening in the world not 5 man instances. I'm sick of it and sick of pugs.  Go back to the Holloween model.
