They are up.

Most notable:  Sigils effect kits.  Grenade damage reduced 30% to reflect this....saw that part coming.

No, you won't.  You'll still be posting here next patch about how much you hate the class, the game, arenanet, etc.

Bleed damage for engies got a major buff.  Shrapnel + Sigils = * yes.

While I acknowledge that there are considerable issues with other classes, it is nice to see all classes, including my beloved Ranger, getting some love. Increase speed on sigil to 25% to match my thief? Yes please! Though it would have been nice before I was at 93% world completion...just saying.

-30% on grenades is a pretty big hit, even if we get sigil effects. Definitely sad that the Elixir Gun healing was fixed. I enjoyed having meaningful heals.

It's still pretty terrible compared to what it was like in the beta though

I like how they consider a 30% nerf "a little". So glad I got that kit out of my system while leveling and in WvW; now that I only do instances and spvp I don't give a toss about it anymore.

I don't think that sigil ICD's are working properly on kits. I just tried the Flamethrower on a dummy in the mists, and in the time it takes to kill it (not long obviously) with JUST FT #1 and Superior Sigil of Earth, it is very rapidly racking up 6-8 stacks of bleed and maintaining them.

So this is interesting. On Weapon Swap effects now work when you go into, out of, or switch between kits. These might make some of the best sigils given you can proc them every 9s at practically no cost. Sigil of Battle for example lets you keep up 6 stacks of might easier than even two sigils of strenghts + gren/flamethrower would.

The worst part about this patch was the elixir gun fix/nerf. Now it just feels like regeneration...not doing much at all and requiring me to stand in it.

The weapon sigils will make playstyles more interesting but the hit to nades and the eg heals seems like engineers won't be needed much in Dungeons. :(

i agree, I was actually using elixir gun getting double 430 heal ticks in WvW with the trait... but now it's 130 a tick for me. so my main party heal, and my main dps was nerfed. both my builds got nerfed so I gotta test the waters again to find better replacements for each build.

Engi is getting more and more mediocre at everything and not good at anything. You know what this is called?

RE-ROLL proper class for the job.

Or learn how to use them, or play an other class. My engineer always kicked ass everywhere, with or without grenades.

Agreed. Grenade Kit was the one stand out ability we had, but it wasn't the only GOOD ability we had. The ONLY issues this class has at this point are the facts that turrets blow and two of our elites blow, otherwise the class is quite solid, and the Grenade Kit nerf didn't change that.

*Edit: I should say that our kits are arguably too iffy to constitute a proper alternative to being able to swap weapons, and at least Elixir Gun and Flamethrower needs fixes/buffs, but I'm not so certain of that and it isnt such a huge deal compared to turrets and our non Supply Drop elites.

Let’s compare ANet's philosphy for Engineer:

The Engineer is a highly versatile class. While it doesn’t have the long range capabilities of the Ranger, or the melee capabilities of the Warrior or Guardian, they are comfortable at medium ranges in most fights. They have a lot of control, and use their boons to keep themselves (and allies) alive in a fight. They can use different kits based on the situation, but this extreme versatility comes at a cost in damage on their main hand weapons.

…with Elementalists:

We see the elementalist as the king of versatility. The skill ceiling for the Ele is exceptional, as the ability to leverage all four attunements at the right time is crucial for understanding the elemetnalist. The Ele boasts some of the best team support and control abilities in the game, as well as some great area of effect damage.

‘Decent utility with low damage to ’compensate’ vs ‘King of utility with awesome healing and AoE damage’. Sounds fair, doesn’t it?

For me when I have to work hard with a class to get same result as other guy who presses 1-2-3 I know it's broken and I'm gonna simply shelve it. Pity a engi was fun class to play with, but I'm tired of being ignored(useless two out of three elites, turrets, downed states, still no stats on kits) and nerfed because supposedly I'm some sort of a god.

Feel free to run with fish kit and slap folks for 1 damage and call it fun and balanced. This class is least played for a reason.

edit: And yes I'm making it sound worse then it is, seen this bull... too many times to know what end result will be like.

Eles are pretty much the opposite of a class that can 1-2-3. They are consistently ranked the hardest class for good reason, and there are a lot of bads whining how terrible that class is. Not that balance is in a good place, but you chose the worst possible example to try and make a point from.

Actually I had BS thief here in mind, guess hard to understand with ele/engi context, my bad.

Sorry tasty, but saying the engineer sucks sounds like self projection. I personally think the elementalist is awful because I just can't play it, doesn't mean they're awful or not useful.

Move on.

Well this forum shows how deep shit engi is sitting. Sow few posts anymore and none positive. (there is no reason to be positive) I feel betraayed by Anet. I love gw2 but this is too much. For me pve replay value is 0 pretty much hate it so i wont do new char. Hopefully there will be something comin that would ro some reasoning to this proff. Time for momentary quit and wait for better times or game.

After getting over my initial butt-hurt, knee jerk response to the nerf, I've come to see that it isn't even really a big deal at all. So they nerfed #1 spam by 30%, and in return the Grenade kit is now an absolutely amazing AoE condition kit, arguably better than the Bomb Kit in every way. In pve, sure, the way conditions are handled is stupid, so it isn't as much of a nice thing, but in pvp it is great.
