The dungeon takes roughly 20 minutes to complete. 15 minutes if you don't bullshit. You can get into a group at the grove in the matter of seconds. It's easier then every single dungeon in the game and even easier then the mini-dungeons (from the ones I've played). Actually.. it's about the easiest thing I've done in weeks. It's a joke..

Did I mention it was easy and only takes 20 minutes to do?

Get over it

I'm actually happy they made it instanced. Lost shores one time event showed how stupid it is to put things like that to the open world.

I bought this game because it was going to get away from instances.  It was going to be a persistant world. But here we go with Wintersday and what do we get a 5-man INSTANCE. Go back to the Holloween model as soon as possible. It was more persistant.  You went. You played. You got some stuff. You left. You didn't have to listen to crap from anyone about why you lost or people being kicked.  I came here because of the events and so far Wintersday is one big instance flop.

For crying out loud its Wintersday let's be inclusive.  The jumping puzzle at Holloween was too hard for me and so probably is the one here. The music one I just don't understand yet, I have to give it some time.

But so far this game is more expensive than WoW or Rift.  I've spent more on gems than a year for eithor of the others.

What about the Mad King Dungeon, if I remember correctly that was 5-man instance aswell..
Anet did their best to provide content for all kinds of players, and in my opinion they succeeded at that.

And nobody forces you to buy gems.. Or you could just buy gems with ingame gold like I do..

A. Halloween had a 5-man dungeon as well; not sure how you missed it.

B. I don't do fractals or dungeons because I can't be bothered grouping with PuGs and even I can manage to run these dungeons a few times - just sit at the entrance and /s lfg. They're incredibly easy and forgiving, so I really doubt anyone is going to kick you unless you spend the entire dungeon dead/afk.

C. The jump puzzle is nowhere near as hard as the Halloween one, presumably because of all the QQ about it.

D. The music puzzle can be a bit annoying to learn if you're not musically inclined, but it's still easy enough to get the achvs while still being pretty crappy at it.

E. No one forces you to buy gems - if you don't like the game then don't buy them.

I'd would personally like them to add some sort of automatic group forming system into these seasonal dungeons - for example, you click the portal for Tixx and it matches you up with the next 4 people who click it & zones you into the dungeon. It would still need to let you join as a party obviously, for those who want to go with friends. Probably wishful thinking.

I dont agree with most of the OPs concerns, but he does make a find point: Much of the new content has been in the form of instances, which I was hoping we would get away from with this game. They do have their difficulty scaling after all. In the two last events at least there were the scavenger hunts out in the world that has a little story to them, this time its only the random parcels it seems. I want more open world stuff not less.

I was going to see what Wintersday had to offer me, but then I saw 'lfm Tixx' and gave up.

TV is so expensive. I pay money out the wazoo to watch cable/satellite TV. And I gotta pay $10 a month on top for this black box receiver!

I am starting to think this thread was designed to troll us. Halloween had a five-man instance...
