They've always been bind on equip, not bind on acquire/pickup.

LoL the price is just the biggest joke ever all mats are like 1000g+ or something in that range so the time you spend on it is worth 8000g?!

Honestly why not? Whoever buys it will make a steal and the person will sold it will have 800 something gold to do whatever he wants. I would rather have 800g in my bank than a soul bound item with 1000g.
