Considering that the wizard hat isn't dyable, I'm wondering if the festive hat is.

It is dyeable. I got one too from a Wintersday box and was able to re-color it.

it is, but you should also be able to dye your wizards hat.

That's what I thought, but it doesn't have any dyable portions.  Or maybe mine's just bugged.  *shrug*
