So I keep being disconnected quite often lately. Yesterday my whole group got disconnected and all our progress from the last 5 minutes (including items, karma, etc) were lost/rolledback. This is becoming a bit annoying as it reoccurs more and more. Anyone else having the same issue? Also, why can't I make new paragraphs and be forced to write everything in big big block of text?

its the same with me,i get dc a lot in spvp and stuck on loading sreen also.its so annoying

My theory is that their realms are seeing a lot of Wintersday activity.  Finals over.  New content.  Up-ramping of concurrent players, especially on weekends.

Shitty code.  Poor system implementation.

possibly the most loved event during GW1, college kids off school from finals, and servers that aren't powerful enough to handle the load.  I'm seeing much more lag than even quickstart weekend, and quite often being booted from the servers in the past week.

college kids haven't even started their christmas exams yet, let alone their finals.

Where are you from? Like all public colleges in PA (and I bet most of the US public colleges as well) have just finished the fall semester. I took finals last week.

I haven't been having many problems at all. The worst I've experienced is falling from the wintersday jump puzzle and actually hitting the ground for 2-3s before being ported back to the jp lobby. I've also heard rumor on the forums of dungeon problem relating to the log-in server, but I'm sure the way they've structured the Tixx event has something to do with that.

Yeah I would assume most colleges shut down for winter break (or run thinly populated winter semester courses) either by now or some time this week.

I have been getting thrown off out of the tix events and off the game completly. I was just curious if it was the server or a bug.

I guess I should have prefaced that with in the USA, university students for the most part are done with finals.  I personally have mine this week (only school in the area of the 4 within a half hour of where I live...), but all of my friends and relatives at the other schools were done with finals last week.

doesn't change the fact that the server load is higher due to the event anyways.

It has been happening since Friday's patch.  2-3 times a day vs 1-2 a week at most prior to patch.

I posted this on the official forums, which is where you should post the issue.  Posting here will likely not help in the least.

Yep it was after the recent patches.  Had virtually zero disconnects until this week.  Even lost progress 2 of those times.  Today I instant disconnected entering the Winterday's instance.

I'm also seeing a client crash bug when I open up the map from time to time.

since november 1st 2012 ive been on the receiving end of 6 disconnects.  a lot of which end up with some error code blaming things on my firewall and i cant log back in for upwards of an hour or more.

6 disconnects is a lot in a month and a half's time.

oh!  so i got disconnected and i copied the error code and tried to google it and it came up with a facebook post from RB2 discussing it from SEPTEMBER 4th!!!

so in other words, i got disconnected and got the same error code as people from back in september which tells me they just never fixed the issue because they proly dont even know what is causing it.

it is a bit of a red flag. . .

here in Europe, college kids are still studying hard for their exams in january but I too have noticed more disconnects lately

I disconnect once every 2-3 weeks on average.

I didn't have any problems with disconnects while I was in the UK, but yesterday I got back to my home country and since then I've had like 3 or 4 disconnects. I'm just playing and bam I get disconnected out of nowhere. I don't know if it's my router or the gw2 servers but it's really frustrating !

Try adding /clientport 80 as a parameter to the game's shortcut.

Right click shortcut->properties->where it says target add it just outside the quotes (there is a space between it and the quotes)

This permanently fixed any disconnection/load screen problems for me.

I'll test
