See if anyone interest in this.
Like title, new armor sets that are exclusive to each professions. While mix match is fun, and there are certain sets that best suited the looks of certain professions, what about having sets that you can wear only if you are of that profession.
This can help define your character better, as it is more tailor for that profession's theme and look (so a Elementalist could have different elements floating around him/her as part of the armor, etc). A basic set can also be use in PvP (so to give a better at-glance visual que of your teamate and your enemy)
Professional Exclusive Armor Sets?

I wish they'd add profession specific armor skins too. Engineers especially tend to get the short end of the stick in the "iconic look" department IMO.

Agreed. Once I saw a light armored female human with dark colors, really gothy looking, equiped with a bone staff. Turned out to be an elementalist, what?
I'd love to have profession specific gear.

Yeah, it should be like the cultural armor for professions instead of races... and less expensive... way less expensive...

I would like that too.
Maybe it could cost karma, or some other form of tokens, so you know people really worked for it.
Huge gold cost could work too, but then it would lose some prestige because of cash > gems > gold.

Why not just do an updated skin from the GW1 FoW armor?

Actually.. I am so so on this idea.. but interesting to see few people liking it. So pitching in some more ideas.
Could also go by a tier skin. So the model would be the same, but as go up in tiers, the armor texture/skin become better and more fancy (with some added floaties too)
So tier 1, the very basic, would be free for all (and default in PvP). Tier 2 cost some gold (and lost more when buying the lv 80 version). Tier 3 need to be crafted (with few rare materials, and recepies are harder to come by, as well as profession exusive too). And Tier 4, gem store.

Well personally, I'd prefer it if they would make profession centered armor sets for each profession but still make them available to all. More choice is always better then less choice, especially if you can expect that some outfits will probably just be *cooler* then others.
If I want to dress my guardian like a warrior, I don't see any reason to restrict those options.

+1 to this.
It kills me to see a ranger, assassin, and an engineer all looking the same. Yeah, the sin gets a stupid hood, it they want to go all AC, and an engineer gets a patch; but that isn't the same.
GW handled it much better, in that respect. It really becomes stark with such classes as the Necro. As it is, the only way you can really LOOK like a necro is by choosing the face paint, going pale, and dying your armor. Not the same thing.
As for letting others wear the armor of a profession, if it comes out...no. It would be the same as cultural armor. If you wouldn't be wearing a salad as an Asura, you won't be wearing Ranger armor as a sin.
