Ye, i'm looking forward to see new content with same exact bugs reported from months still here or renewed again (party split back was the most hylarious and it's back
The "problem" and title of this thread is not just how to get them but even WHY, considering is just a stupid appaerance thinghy without skills noone care of. Going around gw1 LA with my dragon was awesome, and lots telling you how beautiful that tonic was. So fun playing with other people with it instead of my real char. Is it the same playing gw2 with tonics in your bag?

As I said before, I think the bigger problem is that they are expanding on content we didn't buy GW2 for. I think a bunch of us would be absolutely thrilled if GW2 was more about cute outfits and beating enemies to a pulp instead of all the jumping puzzles, town clothes, crafting, harvesting, ...

Temporary transformation item/buff: 99.9% of people are going to destroy it and see it as a hindrance. It'll become a hated thing by the many. It'll never sell, even if the price is 1 gem.
Permanent toggle-based transformation item/buff: A good amount of people are going to find these desirable for the fun factor. Look at how popular the charr one was in GW1. They could likely sell these on the gem store for 1,000 gems a piece and that would fund the game for years to come.
To be honest, they wouldn't need predatory BS like forcing people to grind their life away or convert gems to gold if they had anything worth buying with gems. This is the damned problem. Make a product we want to buy and we'll buy it. Stop trying to force people to buy gems by making the game unfun to play unless you buy gems just to make it playable, let alone fun. BLARGH!
Why are marketing people as stupid as they are greedy?

I don't hate tonics, but I hate that these things appear to take dev-time away from things that this game lacks, aka stuff worth buying.

Well the gingerbread stuff were in GW1, so at least it's consistently useless

I think I used them between 3 and 5 times just for the hell of it, right after I got one as a drop. All of the other ones I threw out.
Same goes for town clothes. I actually "bought" the free wizard's hat, equipped it, and to my surprise, the witch hat I was wearing since Halloween popped into my inventory. I never even toggled town clothes once since Halloween, so I forgot about it. So I deleted the wizard's hat and kept the Halloween one, cause it's cooler. (Never to be seen until another free hat comes out).
Minipets - until Wintersday I thought I'm just going to ignore minipets altogether, but making the princess doll was actually quite fun and I'm also looking forward to getting enough stuff to make a toy soldier. Then I realized that the problem with minipets for me is that they ONLY come through cash shop and so I don't see them as having any value. All you need to do to get them is open up your wallet and there's no interest in that. I also don't get what's so cool about owning them. It's all about the acquisition. They don't have any utility or any gameplay attached to them. So I guess minipets themselves are actually okay, the problem is also their impenetation.

Not talking about costume brawl. I meant going to the maps and fighting normally while transformed as an owl, a destroyer or margonite, or one of the heroes. GW1 you could do that and it was awesome. Keep your skills and only change appearance.
Of course those things were blocked in PvP.

There cool but too much effort into them and not enough in other places.

I really don't see the problem.
It is not like they have spent several extra days in order to add these, seeing as the models already exists.

Some of the consumable stuff in the same nature as tonics, like the fireworks, I'm ok with. The fireworks you don't get as drops, you have to buy them separately, and they are from a merchant so they aren't tradeable otherwise. But the tonics themselves, since they are worthless and drop out of chests (taking up what could have been a rare item instead of a worthless rare tonic), just annoy me.

No idea what it does?
Yes like fighting as an Ascalonian Ghost in AC 3 :-)
Exactly. Fighting as a ghost was fun, I want to do that with other skins, THEN I'll start keeping them.

The only one that was fun was the polar bear one, but even then I can't DO anything so I have to get rid of it (plus it vanishes when you zone).
