Ok so doing the wintersday dungeon on all 5 cities gets you 500 cogs. With 500 you can make 2 minis since each requires 250. So the one time gift Tixx gave today per account had 200 cogs. My question is, is there anything I can do with 200? Is there another way to obtain mystical cogs to get the 50 I need for a 3rd pet or some recipe I don't know of?

Was this to make up for the whole diminishing returns thing?

And yeah...200 cogs...not sure what that would be good for...

Well, having event leftovers is a good way for ArenaNet to induce you to keep playing for another year!

Tonics don't use cogs, though.

well, isnt tixx around for another week or so? maybe you can still get more per day so you can make all of them?

The 200 cogs were compensation for players that weren't able to obtain cogs earlier in the event due to a bug. If you aren't 1 of these players, the cogs are useless. But who knows, maybe they will add something in that we can use these 200 cogs for (don't hold your breath...)

I had the exact same question and was about to make a post about it. I doubt anything will be added but they have until the third of January to do something with 200 cogs!

Somebody posted this vid and if you go at 36 min they say that they gave the extra 200 for the people that encountered a bug and received less than 100 in one of the dungeons. So yeah the 200 cogs are useless for those who have 500 already. Maybe we can get more next year, no idea

I didn't even receive those 200 useless cogs.

I made the mistake of opening the pvp version of the chest when i was traveling to LA through the mists and got some pvp crap instead. Once i arrived to LA the chest is already opened and won't give me my pve rewards. Not only i lost the aparently useless cogs but also the 15 slot bag and the new themed skin for the back slot.

This happened to quite a few people on my guild.
