I honestly thought I'd be addicted to this game for months, if not years.
Probably a good thing I'm not.

Okay, I'm going to go out on a leg and hope that this following statement doesn't violate any terms and conditions for this site.
Lend your account to someone you know. Don't sell it online. Maybe lend it to a friend maybe, who is looking for a fun game to play with you. It could even be one of your family members. That's what I've found with some of my previous games. I had an excess of good accounts, so I let my sister use them and we had an amazing time playing together. The most normal events ended up being hilarious tragedies some times. Haha...
If you ever get bored, I'm sure there's more ways out of it than just quitting.

Your suggestion is illegal and not allowed by the TOS. When caugh the account is terminated.
(Clearly your sister, living in your house, is not comparable to your buddy or school mate)

similar issue came back for wintersday but left shortly after. im not sure what it is TBH ive gone back to wow to try the new expansion and strangely am enjoying the questing alot more than gw2 despite gw2 IMO dominating WOW in most areas. its like the whole exploration thing in gw2 lacks a carrot on a stick or achievements or something, events are nice and renown hearts well i dont like them at all. i wish they added some general quests aswell as the rest into the game. i quite like the typical quest go to 'this' specific area and kill a specific mini boss with a small story attached. im gw2 exploring is nice but i get the feeling there is no story attached to the world apart from kill the big dragon.

Honestly, I played for like 3 weeks nonstop after release, and after that, I couldnt get myself to play for more than 5 minutes at a time without getting bored. But I started playing again this week, and Im having alot of fun. Just go for a class/race combo that you havent used yet, and take it slow. I take breaks every hour or so and its keeping me going so far.

Just take a break. Even an ultra long break. The game is still being calibrated, You can always come back to see what's new.

I got bored and fed up with the broken-ness of GW1 prophecies when it was released, took 8 months off and played BF2. Came back during the Factions preview event, noticed the changes and stuck around. Though I didn't bother getting the new campaigns until almost a year after they were released...each. I got EOTN on release, however. And now I'm sitting on a GWAMM account that I can't access.
Things will change. Both for the better and for worse. It's up to you to decide if the changes are worth coming back for. Good thing there's no subs.

Pretty fair statement.
I've been Debbie Downer here but today an event happened that kinda brought me back to
That can't be crafted nor can it be added to the gem store. It doesn't drop from a beast or plied from a chest. That's human RNG and...pretty awesome.

I've been Debbie Downer here but today an event happened that kinda brought me back toearth Tyria. I fell from a great height in Deirdra's Grove (?) a couple of days back whilst solo'ing. In fact, fell to my death. Logged in today and before I was half-way finished with my vodka tonic staring at a panning environment, an under-leveled Norn came to my rescue and revived me. We go on to finish the jumping puzzles--he actually didn't know he was in one and was unaware of certain items needed for some goodies. So I show him around a bit. He gets one-shot once or twice and I fall to my death in kind elsewhere. It was probably the most fun I've had in weeks. Joking, no stress, no concerns about loot, no rich orichalcum node shenanigans--just *ing around.

You know... So many people complain about lack of social contact, ghost towns, yada yada yada... That just hasn't been true for me. I found a friendly little guild out of nowhere and a number of nice friendly players throughout the world. In fact, one guy suddenly just invited me to party thinking I was low level and wanting to help me in the area. Without any personal gain in mind, he genuinely just wanted to help.
And yesterday afternoon map chat in the zone I was in was alive with chatter from people just taking pleasure in the game. Sure, there are fewer people around than at launch... But the ones who have remained, myself included, seem to be very content in Tyria. I understand that it's not the same on less populated servers... But really, I think people on this forum just exaggerate.
Again, this is my own experience. Others may differ
