By far the most fun was the 1-2 hour brawl inside Bay. Lots of intense fighting and lots of loot. FA eventually prevailed and took the keep, but not until expending 10+ trebuchets and outnumbering our skeleton crew 3:1 (if outmanned is any indication). My favorite part was the corpse dancing when I'd go to scout the treb emplacements, always gives me a chuckle; next time I wish you'd encourage the Asura to dance, Charr are atrocious dancers. Oh and get better area deniers.
Have to give props to some of the guilds that brought good fights on our BL, like PTX and PRO from FA, and G(s?..a? it starts with a G) from CD. Probably a couple others I'm missing, though I'm sure I'll get to loot your corpses and proffer mine unto you enough times over the coming weeks to learn them. Will be interesting to see if the fun fights can keep up later in the week, seeing as this week is intersected by Christmas.
Happy Holidays all ye combatants. All of you are on Jacbo Claus' naughty list and will only be getting a healthy dose of pain in your stocking this year.
EDIT: Score update for those interested. CD showing the best turnout in the early going. FA and IoJ may need to lay off the eggnog if there's to be any comebacks as the week progresses.

Score update. Looks like it's still a very close fight for second; we seem to be gaining ground in first. Will be interesting to see how the fight carries into next week, once the initial "new matchup smell" disappears from all three servers.
Yesterday the fight was all over CD Borderlands (I think it all flipped 4-5 times), today the fight has been all over FA Borderlands (though they've managed to hold onto Garrison). Wherever the fights happen to be, they've been good, so keep 'em coming.

Wow, that video doesn't do that fight justice. I was the guardian on the frontline, and I easily got twice the exp as kylia and a much better view of how many FA there were (I got around 70 kills total).

Nobody has double teamed anyone. There have been fights on all borderlands at various times.

We made it a point to go after your BL when you guys had the lead, but it does seem like IoJ has been there more than on FA since the lead was lost.

This. RUN had a lot of fun out there as well. Always a good time working with and against other strong guilds.

IoJ is Protoss, we just have a higher unit count than you do; maybe improve your macro.

I wish a sociologist could get a hold of the communiques of all three servers in a WvW match to analyze the trends of complaint. I think the results would be quite hilarious.
The term zerg is funny to me, it's thrown around so haphazardly. Apparently to this tier, any 20+ people constitutes a zerg. In Tier 2, it was 40+ people. In Tier 1, it was more still. I wonder if Ferguson's Crossing considers 6 people to be a zerg? I guess 2 people can be a zerg. After all they could be zerging 1 guy, and that's 2:1 odds, so it's mathematically no different than 80v40.
To me, a "zerg" is any large, unruly group of players. I lead some zergs, in the loosest sense of the word lead, whenever my guild and others aren't raiding and I take it upon myself to organize. Here's some characteristics of a zerg:
- A zerg doesn't listen even if you spam chat with explicit instructions. Some zerglings may even berate a commander for presuming to "tell them what to do".
- A zerg doesn't understand the mechanics of a fight, it only understands individual preservation. If a zergling is found within max pew range, it either wasn't paying attention or got pulled there.
- A zerg won't stop forward momentum and has to be turned in gradual degrees; if you do an about face, it doesn't matter if you have 7 commander icons, you'll be twiddling your thumbs with a couple people while the rest charge on to the nearest capturable objective.
- A zerg never does anything remotely inventive, and most times will PvDoor for a little while before some enterprising zergling decides to throw a ram down under the oil.
I'd also like to shout out to PTX and ULTD from FA, and KH from CD. Your guilds are, thus far, the only ones which have shown me something interesting I hadn't seen before. Which is not to say there aren't other guilds that have done well here and there, just that I've only needed to formulate any new counters when faced with one of these three guilds so far. To the other guilds that keep bringing the fights, keep em coming, we've had a lot of fun these last two weeks.
