Trolls Drop: T5 and T6 blood + bones
Bears Drop: T5 and T6 Blood + Claw + Fangs
To the West of the troll trench...
Gawrls Drop: T5 and T6 totems and bags that can give you all types of T5 and T6 mats
You usually find alot of people farming there as they wait for the dragon jormag to appear.

Well lets see....lower DPS due to MF on gear means lower killing speed, less drop chance per hour...
Food costs money, money is the intent for farming...
Your call.

that said there really isn't a pure solo farming spot in the game to make money due to the anti-farming DR code in the game. I usually pop 1 omnomberry bar and kill stuff until it ends then go sell. if the loot table has been nice to me sometimes I stay for a second omnom bar, but after an hour the code has definitely kicked in and you start losing most drops.

I wouldn't use MF gear as it really affects your killing speed (unless you have one of the Ascended items giving MF). Use food though - maybe not Omnomberry food items as they can be expensive, but definately use Peach Tarts.
Note: Keep a weapon with any Sigil of Luck attached to it, and use that to get 25 stacks of Luck (totals 5/10/15% MF depending on which level Sigil you use) and swap back to your usual weapon once you have 25 stacks. If you get downed, remember to get 25 stacks back.

For magic find, if you can farm just fine with it then use it as much as you want. I always were mine outside of dungeons. My War wears all rare explorer's and can still solo farm anywhere outside of instances. Fact is my damage increases with it on. It helps finding that next rare that you can either sell or salvage and buy those T6 mats. If you salvage one ecto or 3, its more than enough to buy a fist full of mats.

i don't get this. explorer's gear gives power and precision. where do i lose killing power by running MF gear? :S

I didn't say you lose power, I said MF gear affects your killing speed (in a negative way). Having MF as the third stat means you're missing out on either Crit % or Condition Damage - whichever is better for you profession/build. Please don't tell me you use Toughness, Vitality etc when map exploring?

Explorer gives power and precision only as secondary stats, compared to berserkers which have power as the primary stat, and critical damage(the 2nd damage boost stat) as secondary. So yeah running MF means you drop killing power, not that it matters when farming in CS, I run a full MF set there too, would be silly not to.

i see. i wasn't sure that berserker had higher stats than explorer.
but i can't see a few more kills in an hour to be a more significant increase in rare drops than 70% magic find from armor and jewelry alone.

And you're correct
