So I have lately come back to my guardian from my thief.  Really enjoying the different gameplay.  But I have a few questions about builds, and just some basics I dont really remember the odds and ins out.

This is the spec I have been using lately

http://gw2skills.net...NObk2s2YIy jJBA

The only problem is, its not really a GS bunker build.  Because you die so quick and easily unless in mace/shield.  When I have M/S out, i can stand solo in a 1 vs 3 and it takes along time to kill me.  With quick bursts of swapping to GS to do some burst AoE.  All in all I like it, but its not really what Im looking for.

So I thought about changing to this:

But I soon quickly found out that the Greatsword attacks Heal, is so very very low healing, its almost pointless.  Unless im missing something?  Is there a way to actually get viable healing out of this?  I played around with Healing power and didnt see much a difference.  Going from 400 Healing to over 1k healing, only results in like +20 hp healed on most ticks of things.

Also, for overall survival, which is better Meditations with monks focus, or Shouts with Altruistic Healing?  I was reading on a few posts that Shouts are better in the long run for dps and survibability, but I tend to last alot longer with Meditations so just now sure on that one.

Any Suggestions from the pros out there.  I basically want a GreatSword spec that can be up in the middle of the melee frenzy hacking away at people.  I dont expect to do massive damage, but I want to very hard to kill, and become the focus fire of the enemy team.  Basically I want to be a GreatSword Tank.  Does such a build exist?

I would suggest trying this build then http://gw2skills.net...ZtCZEyJktFvQmEA

This build wont hit very hard but it will exceed & 2 things, 1: Survivability, 2: Condition removal for yourself & allies. It does this by stacking vitality & toughness while using rune of the soldier & pure of voice which will cause your shouts to remove a condition on use from all allies & transform another into a boon. Each boon you apply will also heal you per person its applied on for a consistent stream of small heals.
Lastly the sigil of leeching is the icing on the cake. it will heal you for 1k on proc and cause your attack to do 1k extra damage on proc for a sliight boost in burst.

Also I should note that if you want a build with a bit more oomph damage wise you can easily switch over to this build http://gw2skills.net...skZtCZEyJktFvQA
This build offer quite a bit more damage but a bit less toughness & is the build I personally use for pve & pvp (Though for pve I use knights armor & berserker's rings/weapons with a + power + vitality food)
Also as a plus if you a fight is going to be hard just carry the staff instead of the sword/focus as the empower ability heals for a crapload with altruistic healing.

There are also meditation builds out there sadly they have no support & thus most guardians wont use them if they want to get anywhere.

I tried the first build you gave me above.  The build does work, and decently well, but you must be surrounded by team mates for the healing.  I mostly play hotjoin, so just because of the nature of the beast, i tend to either be defending a node by myself, or attacking in a 1v2 situation by myself.

Since Im alone, meditation heals seem to keep me alive much longer.

High health, armour, healing and pretty decent damage (I enjoy sword/focus more than GS with extra 5% crit but you wanted the GS!) AH is as good as Monk's Focus at healing, but the main improvement of shouts over meditations is high levels of protections kicks butt!

Ah since that's the case you will probably want a meditation build then.

I would suggest http://gw2skills.net...MLYOwkgtCZEymAA it should have decent survivability & be good at point control..
If you want even more survivability then I would suggest gem of the soldier & rune of the forge.
