sorry i like to see myself as a competitive player and the fact that some people want to just brush off stuff like this as just a normal day is amazing to me... weird i expect an amount of sportsmanship and respect in high tier play >.>
saying it exists in other games and that this is pretty tame doesn't change what it is, and honestly wvw in its current state isn't worth putting up with that type of play. but i guess like its been said before that wvw was never really meant to be a place for competitive players we've kinda just turned it into that, so to expect people to act respectfully is too much to ask. Just amazing how many people are saying that this kind of stuff should be expected. maybe I've been lucky with my encounters in the online world and in the mlg matches i've watched if this is what counts as normal, cause "competitive" wvw isn't what i expected like some of you have.

tl:dr

if this is what counts as competitive play then I'm kinda sadden by the state of internet gaming

Hey. It's been 2 days since WM left and SBI hasn't imploded! No harm there. AND WM gets a new server to play on and takes a well deserved stress free break down in Kanine.

Personally, I don't blame them for leaving. There'd been a lot of things building up over the past month or two for them. They've always fought hard and dropped a ton of gold and time into WvW. I'm sure all of them could use a vacation.

So, it's a win for SBI, for WM, for JQ and SoS, a win for everyone.

But why just shake hands and say good luck when you can start an argument on the internet about it, right? Am I right folks? Especially a good old fringe argument that has nothing to do with anything by two poster who are just guessing at motives and feelings.

Maybe we should ALL move to Kanine with WM, pound everyone into submission as one super server, then quit after 30 days and drop the microphone! We could be kings!

You are mistaking condoning with people simply saying such behavior isn't unique.   Many of us have worked long and hard to bring a better level of sportsmanship to online gaming.

However, it is the internet.   There are people that will road rage and do things here that they would never do in real life.   It is the protection of being anonymous that lures many into such behavior.

Is it cool?   No.

Does it compare to SWG in 2003 where I'd get at least one death threat a week for playing an Imperial?  No.

It just is what it is.   Further, it isn't even remotely as bad as it used to be.   Sharing perspective is not agreeing to the behavior.  

We might dislike bad drivers on the road and agree with others that some people shouldn't have licences.  However, that doesn't mean we are giving up driving.  Nor does it mean that it is as bad as it was when it was legally acceptable for people to to drive drunk.

Kinda weird, but guess its not too surprising; their participation level dropped considerably the last month or so.

I'd have guessed anvil rock instead though since that's the only other big NA sPvP server along with SBI, and i know at least some of them play that regularly. The real endgame for gw2 should theoretically be sPvP, but anet seems to focus the vast majority of their resources on PvE crap.

Us not playing WvW during NA prime time doesn't mean we dropped considerably. We were still holding the majority of Asian/EU timeframe.

well I heard that Agg target Jang Gan specifically during wvw (even send thief just to target him) and mass trash pm him, if Anet allows this behavior that is really sad, talk about cyber bullying to a new level

I would actually read it as Noone new is going to move to SBI. SBI has become stale and the other guilds on the server no longer care about winning. We are going to move to the lowest ranked server, see what we can do, and see who wants to come do something special with us.

Best movement yet has been SoS from T3/T4 to T1. Bringing a perma T8 server to T2 or higher would be an accomplishment. I may jump to Kaineng just to see what can be done.

My experiences with War Machine from the SoS perspective is that they were one of the best guilds, if not the best guild in the game. They respond to maps faster than most guilds, they wipe zergs (even guild zergs) and they accomplish a lot when they are on. I certainly don't think they were getting their asses handed to them when they were out in force, they often do the ass kicking.

SBI doesn't beat SoS because of coverage, not because individual guilds can't compete with the others. It takes a collection of guilds and militia to be competitive, WM is an incredible force, but they alone can't make a server number one. That certainly doesn't mean they weren't competitive in their time slot.

I hope this is just WM taking a break to do some PvE, and then they will come back to SBI with full t3 armor, legendaries, and shiny fractal backpieces, ready to dominate WvW again in all their shiny glory.

I held War Machine in high esteem since their debut in Guild Wars 1.

Honestly, this apology of a letter is simply weak. I doubt they will avoid what for which they moved, even if the server is Kaneing. If anything, the level of play there might make them depart Guild Wars 2 faster.

  First of all...I work very hard on these forums to get my opponents to dislike me....and people like you ruin it! But thanks for the nod.

  Second of all....I think just about every full time WvW player echoes these thoughts and concerns.

   From my perspective...it really sucks because WvW was AMAZING back in September and the first half of October....when eveyr map was fully manned by every server.

   Oddly, a full map left more room for small guilds and groups to have an impact...while the zergs butted heads, small groups could run around killing Yaks and flipping supply camps.

   Now that there are fewer people on the maps...small groups get run over time and again, and are forced to join the zergs.

   I and my guild do both....but most of us far prefer the small group PVP....which is less and less viable as WvW goes through it's death throes and population diminishes with every "new content" putting another dagger into WvW.

True.  It's really not.  ANet intends to focus on PVE.  ANet just needs to find a way to make money off PVP (primarily WvW) then they'll be able to dedicate resources into that area.

Go back to T1 WM. Things were pretty balanced in t4, and fun. Now look, kaineg dominates t4 owning all maps and portal camping people. Funny, never has been like that til you and a few other BW guilds seemed to follow you guys here. Maybe you need the ego boost of beating on t4 scrubs, or cant hack t1 anymore. We dont care, get out of T4. go to a t2 server that needs some help, coming to a fairly even t4 matchup between rookies just shows what you intend.

You sound like you are from Fergusons or Devonas where week after week you stomped Kaineg into the ground and now are mad bro cause it's happening to you.

A lot of SBI people are proud of their server, and this could be the first rough step on down to T2 for them.  I hope they don't get a flood of people jumping ship and can recover.

This coming week will see a shifting in the formula that has ruled the last 5 weeks and will mean fewer awesome fights.  A lot of PvD isn't good for anyone.

The real losers, T6-T3.  Kaineng is up +680 PPT right now.  So T6 might as well do FotM next week, then they continue to wreck their way up to T3; bringing top tier talent into lower ranked servers.  Where's the fairness in that?

I admire the desire for a challenge, to fight their way back up; but they can't take Kaineng to T1 unless all of SBI follows them, and I don't see that happening.

Like I said, this sucks; and I hope SBI keeps it together.  Stay strong SBI!

you serious? A lot of PvD always benefit people that wants to move up a tier, like Blackgate. I cant wait for BG to move up, so sick of fighting them.
