[Minimal DJ]

Hi guys, Im testing the waters to start developing a dungeon finder app, possibly for android/ios platforms if people use their phones while gaming nearby.

I also thought a Chrome/ firefox Extension would probably be a better idea ?

So I need your feedback if I should start developing such an app/extension, I'm thinking a kind of global LFG chat sections for different dungeons, that would require you to input a nickname, look for a group or look for more players for your group, then exchange In-game names to make party and play together.

Sorry to burst your bubble mate but gw2lfg (as already mentioned) works both as a web browser and an app, and many already use it:)

Yeah gw2lfg is good but if you can do it better dont let that stop you. Maybe even JV with them or provide something slightly different / more features or simply market it better

If you really want to write a mobile app for GW2, I suggest writing one that allows people to monitor prices/their orders in the trading post, providing alerts when prices reach a certain value and so on.

The lfg thing is very straight forward and someone has already done that.

A good thing to add to your ap is the ability for it to maybe record what armour/ accessories etc players are wearing?
That means people who form groups who only want people in a certain armour type etc would be able to use this to inspect people before inviting them

Yes that would be elitist.  You can't do that anyway because there is no api provided from the game for his app to do that.  Even gw2lfg depends fully on the information that people supply, even if you have an armor field, people don't have to fill it in, or they can easily lie about it.

Like if the gw2 community we find around on a pug is not enough trashy, add an inspector now lol.

What i would suggest to the OP is to contact who manage gw2lfg, so you can maybe create an addon connected to their website.

Great feedback everyone, im currently thinking of making extensions for both chrome/firefox for gw2lfg and gw2spidy data to either track LFGs or track X item from the TP, possibly notifying thru popup when buy/sell value has been met, im also sorry but there is no possible way to link your account details to a web api for e.g. Hero details, achievements, pvp rank, etc, unless gw2 devs make it a possible feature.

If you want more information on accessing the TP, you can access the public gw2spidy source at https://github.com/r...sayshi/gw2spidy
It runs using php on Linux but you can adapt it for your needs.

Eff apps.  Most of them aren't necessary.

I have not seen their android app yet so I can't comment.  Personally, if I want app store support, I would just write it in html5 and use PhoneGap
